Reshare this if you agree, or let me know what you think. This "feeling" we've had for so long, I don't think anyone's been able to pinpoint. I've been thinking about it for the last 3 years, and I think this is it. But until it's labeled and becomes acknowledged/recognized, the distaste will linger. Disclosure is key. It's a strong tool for augmentation, automation, and even ideation / direction / visualization, but...for creation or when generative outcomes are sold as products (without disclosure) that's where the harm lives and where people might lose work/jobs and where buyers feel defrauded, scammed, and duped. What do you think? #aiart #generativeai #philosophy #criticalthinking #ethics

The most important word in the English dictionary is: Perspective, because it introduces us to the entire foundation of our own personal reality and how happy or unhappy we are about our circumstances. Our life is factually what it is. Our feelings about it are based on our perspective, and the sooner we realize that our viewpoints on matters-of-fact are charging our experience with emotions of joy or emotions of anger, fear, and frustration instead, we find ourselves at the beginning of an opportunity to take control of steering how we experience everything that happens around us, to us, and for us, sometimes by us. Exposure isn't always therapy though. And another person's greater suffering doesn't diminish our own. But if you find it helpful to see it that way, I've found it helpful to, too. #perspective #philosophy #suffering #mindset #toughness

Sometimes you have to die to what others think of you: in order to begin living for what you think matters. And sometimes that means you have to learn to be okay with not having what others have, so you *can* have the select things you actually want. The hardest thing in all of that is piercing through the noise of people telling you the 100 ways you should live and the 1,000 things you're doing wrong: to be clear about the 1 way you actually want to live and the 10 things you're doing right or need to do right in order to take your life in the direction that you want it to go. It's okay if the world misunderstands you or disagrees with your decisions. It's okay if co-workers judge you, or strangers have nothing to be impressed by. What matters is: are you truly happy, are you living by your own philosophies, and are you nurturing the 1 life you actually have while you have it? #perspective #philosophy #mentality #individuality #relationships

What if I told you that you could retire today? Retire your car and return to riding a bike. Retire living to work and return to working-to-live. Retire texts and return to sending letters. Retire using a.i. and return to using your brain. Retire looking at your phone and return to looking up. Retire trashing your body and return to feeling its potential. Retire rushing through life and return to enjoying it. We spend all our days absorbed in devices and efficiencies, we forget life is everything beyond them: the tactility of caring for your own belongings, growing & cooking your own food, writing with your own hands, using your own brain ...existing, eyes up, ears open, hands on.

@paul.surf for @amouageofficial - an appreciation for the process. Analogizing the next-level craftsmanship of not just surfing, but hand-making the very tool we use to surf the great ocean to the level of care Amouage puts into perfumery, fragrance & brand articulation, and the biological symbiosis between man & nature. While this full-length video (3rd slide) did not make the publication, aspects of it did, and this is the behind-the-scenes on my intended narrative to form the analogy. I wanted to bring a dark, blue hour cinematic feel to demonstrate the extent to which an artist will go for his craft. Let me know if you enjoy this? Photography for @amouageofficial -- the most sophisticated, high-art perfumery: down to the earth of the ingredients and its dedication to cultivating great craft involving select artists & craftsmen. I had the opportunity to document the journey of Amouage's coming to Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and it was an awe to see so much care put into every detail of every aspect I witnessed: from the conversations around what textures to make & how much texture is the right amount, to the specificity on hue of colors for each element. Real gold on the walls, craftsmen behind the construct that have lived as carpenters their whole lives, and designers with eyes over every aspect of the brand experience, and that's everything beyond the perfume. 👏🏼🙂‍↕️ As a brand photographer, I always say: we need to pay attention not just to making things "look" good, but actually making what's in front of the lens truly excellent in reality, and then photography just attempts to capture some of the marvel that's happening. Here are some of my favorite captures from inside the upcoming Beverly Hills store, from Day 1 of the journey back a few of months ago. This will be Part I of sharing the behind-the-scenes story of this beautiful brand I had the opportunity to help tell the story of. Special thank you to... Renaud @muji70 Sarah Kim and everyone involved for doing such beautiful work that I've had the privilege to share part in. #amouage #photography #editorial #writing #perfume Special thanks to Krystal Higgins, who originally made this all possible. Check out Amouage Beverly Hills, grand opening this week in Beverly Hills, CA at 311 N. Beverly, Los Angeles, CA.
