At Kudu, the sides get just as much attention as everything else on the menu.

These carrots are tossed in ras el hanout, then cooked over the braai until smoky, charred and sweet, before being served with creamy goat’s curd.

Fire touches so much of what we do here - not just the obvious dishes, but the vegetables, garnishes and smaller plates too. It’s a big part of the flavour that runs through the menu.

A Kudu classic for a reason.

We couldn’t stay away from South London for long. 👋

Back to the neighbourhood where so much of our story began - only this time, we’re bringing chicken.

Braai Bird is our new South African wood-fired rotisserie spot, opening this November on Nunhead Lane. Really good chicken, cooked slowly over fire, crispy chips, plenty of sauce and the kind of food you want to get stuck into with a table full of mates.

It feels very good to be coming home.

The opening of Kudu in Marylebone was a big success but now the team are heading back to where it all began. Their next opening will be @braaibird, a wood-fired rotisserie chicken restaurant with South African flavours, and it’s opening where Kudu Grill once was.

One year in Marylebone.

A year ago, we opened the doors to our new home on Moxon Street.

After years of Kudu in Peckham, moving across London and beginning a new chapter was a big moment for us. We wanted to bring everything we’d learnt along the way with us, while creating something that felt like its own restaurant - a new kitchen, a new neighbourhood and a new space to keep evolving what Kudu could be.

Over the past twelve months, we’ve welcomed old friends from Peckham, met so many new ones in Marylebone, cooked a lot of food, poured a lot of wine and watched this space slowly begin to feel like home.

Restaurants only really come to life because of the people inside them, so thank you to our brilliant team and to every single person who has eaten, drunk, celebrated, recommended us, returned for another dinner or simply stopped by to say hello.

Here’s to year two.

Sundays are better when there’s something in the middle of the table.

Our Sunday Sharers are made for two or more, with a choice of half Somerset Saxon chicken with vin jaune, padrón pepper and king oyster mushrooms, or hot smoked sea trout with honey mustard and crème fraîche.

Add a few sides, order a bottle for the table and settle in.

For tonight’s chef spotlight, we’re thrilled to introduce @patrickwilliamschef to Who’s Cooking Dinner? 🍽️✨

Chef Patrick Williams is from Durban, South Africa, where he grew up on chicken curries, oxtail potjies and anything cooked over the braai. He trained at La Colombe and Camphors on the Vergelegen wine estate in Cape Town before moving to London to work with Robin Gill at The Dairy and The Manor.

In 2017, Patrick opened @kudurestaurant Restaurant with his wife Amy Corbin, bringing Kudu’s South African heritage and seasonal open fire cooking to life across his restaurant. Michelin recognised with a Bib Gourmand, he is known for uncompromising standards and precision in every dish.

We can’t wait to see what he creates at The Dorchester on 14th September 🧡
