I don’t think my mom knows how much moments like this mean to me. I see them together and it hits me that I get to be her daughter, and I get to be my daughter’s mom.

If your mom is this kind of grandma, send this to her. She deserves to know you notice. 💌

My mom was supposed to be in the room for my birth. She wasn’t.

She was in the air when everything went sideways. By the time she landed, my whole world had already changed — and what she did the second she walked in still gets me every time I think about it.

Send to someone whose mom would do the exact same thing. 🤍

A little birdie, aka @odette.stems.florals told me there are still 10+ weeks before the first frost, so July planting still gives plenty of time to bloom. Go cross it off your list!

Which seeds? Sunflowers, marigolds, zinnias, cosmos and nasturtiums are the best bets — big seeds, easy for little hands, and fast to bloom.

We paired our planting with “Days with Frog and Toad” by reading the chapter titled “The Garden” — turned a 20-minute activity into an actual lesson on how flowers grow. Don’t have the book, let your kids listen to it read aloud on YouTube (comment SEEDS for direct links)

Materials & links:
- Days with Frog and Toad, “The Garden” by Arnold Lobel
- Toddler Gardening Gloves
- Seeds that’ll still bloom in time: cosmos, zinnias, sunflowers, marigolds, nasturtiums
- Burlap (to keep birds off the seeds) — Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc
- Mini watering cans — Ikea
- Soil (I used leftover outdoor potting soil🤫🤫.)

Anyone else have a patch of dirt that’s been guilt-tripping you all summer? 👇

Pulling these memories from the archives - on a rainy day last June, playing in my studio with my lovely flower friend @odette.stems.florals @patrina with the most exquisite soft peachy blooms we harvested from her enchanting flower garden that morning…🥹

Featuring bearded iris, foxglove, itoh peony, pansy, geum, garden roses, lupine, & raspberry foliage 🧚💫✨and a couple random dahlias from my wholesale haul lol but I’m obsessed

Come take a tour of my specialty cut flower garden! My garden this year compared to last is so different. I love how gardening has given me a new avenue to grow and learn in! Had the best morning touring the garden and playing with flowers with Patrina of @odette.stems.florals. Patrina was my first flower friend and has continued to support me through gardening advice, the absolute best seedlings each Spring and her unwavering support for this little passion project of mine!

I’ve been waiting all spring for this bloom! This beauty is ‘Champagne and Strawberries’ tall bearded iris. Like @odette.stems.florals says, the orange beard is the best part!

I had the honor of teaching a private watercolor workshop for the @shegrowsgardens team!
We were surrounded by beauty amongst the gorgeous flower fields, enjoyed delicious food + treats by @sleepingmakesmehungry, some live music, lit candles and painted till the sun set and the moon glowed! Talk about perfect end of summer night! Shoutout Patrina for planning such a dreamy evening @odette.stems.florals 🎶🎨🌼✨🕯️💕🌙
