We reached out to local artist Paulina Johnson. She recommended Tibby Speare, who makes handcrafted pieces from metal, stones and gems. Find her jewelry at Pine Moon Fine Art. Or stop by Ohana to browse creations from local artisans like Brett Buckles and Sabina Jewelry.

This piece titled, “I Heard That” is built entirely from carefully cut strips of paper, stacked and glued into place to create a layered silhouette that feels almost like topographic lines. Each curve adds depth and movement, set against a rich burgundy backdrop that gives the piece a sense of calm power.

We love how the shadows shift throughout the day, giving the work a subtle, living quality even though it’s made from something as simple as paper.

Paulina M. Johnson’s paper on edge artwork never disappoints!

Oh @paulinamjohnson your art pulls my heartstrings. This piece definitely has winter vibes. A photo never does her work justice as they are even more incredible in person. I love the use of different colored paper to create depth. One I’ll own a Paulina Johnson piece.

ArtWalk is this Friday, February 6, 5pm - 8pm! Please join us for the opening of ‘Rooted: The Art of Trees’.

Trees are not only essential to life on our planet; they are also a timeless and versatile subject in art. Symbolizing life, growth, connection, and memory, trees have inspired artists across cultures and generations. For the month of February, Pine Moon Fine Art celebrates this enduring motif with Rooted: The Art of Trees, an all-gallery exhibition showcasing nature’s power through a wide variety of interpretations and mediums.

January’s exhibition, Self-Portraits, an All-Gallery Show, invites viewers into a quiet, intimate dialogue with the artists themselves. Through realism and abstraction, and across a rich spectrum of mediums, each Pine Moon artist turns inward—revealing personal narratives, inner landscapes, and reflections of identity as seen through their own creative lens.

Catch a glimpse into how the artists perceive themselves and join us tonight for the opening of Self-Portraits, an All-Gallery Show, Friday, January 2, from 5pm to 8pm during First Friday ArtWalk.

We are deeply honored and grateful to be named “Best Art Gallery” in this year’s Best of the Boat awards. Our 9th year in a row!!! We also celebrate along with two of our artists, Tibby Speare and Jennifer Baker, for placing in the top 5 best artists. This recognition means so much to all of us at Pine Moon Fine Art, and it would not have been possible without the incredible support of our community.

Thank you to everyone who voted for us, visited our gallery, attended our events, and shared in the joy of local art. Your encouragement inspires us every day to create, collaborate, and bring meaningful art experiences to Steamboat Springs.

We are proud to be part of such a vibrant, creative community, and we look forward to continuing to share our passion for art with you. Thank you for making Pine Moon Fine Art a special place for artists and art lovers alike.

The Winter Carnival 2026 poster is here!

Made by Pine Moon Fine Art's very own Paulina M. Johnson. Using her unique style to capture the timelessness of Howelsen Hill in her piece called 'Time Flies'.

If you are wanting to see more of her work you can either go to her website linked below of go see some of their work at Pine Moon Fine Gallery located in downtown Steamboat Springs.

The precision of the cuts and the consistency of the spacing between the strips of paper demonstrate the high level of craftsmanship and patience paper on edge artist, Paulina Johnson, has.
She has created another masterful and dramatic landscape piece titled “A Glimmer of Hope”.
