If you want your children to hate the world, watch the news. If you want them to love it, travel. 🌎

As a former news reporter & anchor turned worldschooling mom, I’ve seen the world through two very different lenses.

Here’s what happens when children experience the world for themselves… not just the beautiful beaches and breathtaking landscapes, but the REAL world.

They learn:
The kindness of strangers.
The generosity of people with so little.
The richness of cultures different from their own.
The beauty of languages they don’t understand.
The joy of human connection without a single shared word.
The abundance that exists alongside poverty.
The beauty that exists alongside suffering.
The pollution that makes us question how we live.
The traditions that challenge what we’ve always believed.
The hardships that build empathy.
The differences that teach acceptance.
The similarities that remind us we’re not so different after all.

I want them to see the hard, the beautiful, the broken, the hopeful, the heartbreaking, and the extraordinary.

Not to believe the world is perfect, but to understand it’s worth caring about.

Because I don’t want to raise children who are afraid of the world they’ve inherited.

I want to raise children who love it enough to help make it better ❤️🌎

Today is 5 years since I graduated - and if I were to be asked then what my next 5 years would look like; I wouldn’t have predicted what I have achieved so far.

The early years of my career allowed me to dive deeper into my passion for fitness and helping others. Looking back at what I’ve accomplished gives me great pride and I’m very grateful for all those experiences.

I knew when I became a Doctor of Physical Therapy that I wanted to bridge the gap between pain and performance. I wanted to dip my toes into different styles of fitness so this way I would be able to relate and provide a better rehab experience.

My advice to anyone who is starting off in their career as a Physical Therapist / Personal Trainer: #1) learn to be adaptable & #2) be present with your patient/client/yourself.

Remember: Rome wasn’t built in a day. Bravery often feels like fear. Patience is a virtue.

Moments from our Song-Köl horse trek 🐎

4 days of adventure through the heart of Kyrgyzstan. Riding across wide valleys, mountain passes, and beautiful alpine landscapes, all the while experiencing a glimpse of traditional nomadic ways of life.

Each day brought something new; taking in breathtaking views and having brief encounters with local families plus (some) peaceful evenings in our cozy yurts under the stars. ✨

Truly such a highlight from our time in Kyrgyzstan so far 🇰🇬
