It’s been over two years since I’ve posted on here, but definitely not for a lack of content. So much footage, so many edits, and so many incredible experiences that never make it beyond the hard drives. Figured this one would be a fun one to share.

It’s been an incredible journey lately. Lots of travel, amazing people and stories… as I like to say, “it’s a new office every day.” That’s one of the things I love most about this career, it’s spontaneous, it’s unpredictable, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Still pretty surreal that I got to play a round at Pinehurst for work while helping film an episode of Hometowns that I actually get to be part of, both in front of and behind the camera. Even better getting to do it alongside some incredibly talented creatives who have become lifelong friends.

Really grateful for everyone who surrounds me, supports what I do, and makes opportunities like this possible. It’s been a pretty wild ride, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.

Here’s a little glimpse from our time at Pinehurst No. 1 & Pine Needles. ⛳️🎥

Ever wondered who studies how an entire forest works? 🌲🌿Forest ecologists examine how trees, plants, animals, soil, water, and climate interact — and how we can better protect these ecosystems. If you love science AND spending time outdoors, this could be a pretty cool career path right here in Appalachia. 👀

A few frames from our recent shoot in Muskegon, Michigan! We spent the week along the shores of Lake Michigan capturing stories for an upcoming episode of Hometowns while also continuing production on our documentary about the history of the Snurfer...the invention that helped give birth to modern snowboarding.

Great stories, great people, and some pretty incredible Michigan sunsets! Looking forward to sharing both projects soon!

Both projects are productions of @pbsappalachia

Welcome to the Museum!!
We are so glad to have you here!

This building has so much historic significance behind it. Spanning from the Civil War to the Barter Theater in Abingdon. There is SO much to unpack in one video.

If you want to be a part of the museum, we have a few different ways:

🛠️ 1. Direct Support via GoFundMe.
If you’d like to make a direct, contribution to our weatherization, stabilization and renovation fund, every single dollar goes straight toward protecting the physical structure that was set up by Christy Taylor-Jacobs.

👉🏻 Donate here: https://gofund.me/469a...

🤝🏻 2. If you would like to meet me in person to donate or anonymously, we do have an account set up at The Bank of Marion - Glade Spring Branch. Just go in and tell them that you want to donate to the “R. B. Henderson Plasterco Museum”, we have a business account there under “Henderson-Stanley Properties LLC”.

🎥 Check out our video with Appalachian Memory Keepers on YouTube to see more about this museum!
