At Variety KC, we’re not afraid to have a little potty talk—and quite frankly, none of us should be. 🚽 It’s one of the few universal human experiences. No matter who you are—regardless of your background, ability, race, gender, or economic situation—everyone needs access to a restroom. Unfortunately, most of us take for granted that public facilities are designed for able-bodied individuals. But what if that wasn’t the case? One year ago—almost to the day— Variety KC’s Chief Inclusion Officer, Marc Harrell, picked up the phone and called the City of Kansas City with a simple request: Our families need an accessible portable restroom along the Super Bowl parade route.” Without hesitation, the City responded: “Absolutely. We must have one. Tell us where to get it.” That’s when we hit a roadblock. We searched the entire country, and there was only one existing unit available. It was built for a specific community and couldn’t serve the needs of Kansas City. That’s when we said, ”Variety KC will solve this problem—and we will do it better.” 🎉 Fast forward one year, and we are so proud to introduce our Mobile Accessible Restroom! None of this would have been possible without the financial support of our incredible partners: 🎩 T-Mobile Center: Thank you for hosting us yesterday! 🎩 Hy-Vee: Our new Cargo Van Sponsor, which will transport this mobile restroom and serve as our new gift presentation vehicle. 🎩 Platinum Sponsors: McCarthy Auto Group, Olivia Bloomfield Foundation, Kansas City Royals Foundation, Ray & Robyn Feltner—Your generosity turned this dream into a reality. 🎩 Diamond Sponsors: The City of Kansas City, Cerris Builders, and Cerris Systems—Your unwavering commitment to inclusion is transforming our community. Thank you to all who joined us yesterday to support and celebrate this incredible milestone, especially @quinton_lucas, @briandavidplatt, and @matt.bloomfield10 — Your presence and advocacy mean the world to us! Lastly, what upcoming community events or activities do you think would benefit from having this restroom present? Your ideas will help us ensure that accessibility is at the forefront of every gathering! THANK YOU ♥️

A little ✨Feel Good Friday✨ as we want to say THANK YOU to one of our most loyal, supportive community partners! Whenever Variety KC has a need, these friends do not hesitate to help ♥️ You guessed it… thank you to our friends at @teamcerris !! One of our Variety KC families received their long-awaited Safe Bed (thanks to our partnership with @themiraculousmissmaddie !! 💕) but needed help assembling it. We reached out to our friends at Cerris and their team was there the NEXT DAY to volunteer their time and talents to help assemble a Safe Bed so a Variety KC child and their family could finally sleep safely and soundly 💤 Thank you so much for your incredibly huge hearts, @teamcerris !! Variety KC is so grateful for your unwavering support! 🎩

IT’S HEART & SERVE WEEK! 🏓 We want to kick off the week by thanking some very important Variety KC supporters whose sponsorships go directly to helping children with disabilities and their families within our Kansas City community. First up, we would like to thank @teamcerris for serving as our Heart & Serve Paddle Sponsor! Variety KC’s loyal, long-time partners, MW Builders and MMC Contractors, have rebranded as CERRIS! We are so excited to celebrate their new brand name by placing the new name and logo on our pickleball paddles! 🌟 “Go back to 2016... Variety KC was doing the Leawood Inclusive Playground. They were in construction, and we went and helped get the fence in place to open. We got invited to the opening of that playground, and, from that point on, I’ve been hooked... just to see those kids light up and be able to play on the playground with their siblings and friends is what Variety KC is all about. Now, we do things all the time like putting sensory bags together, and our folks deliver them to schools. We help out at every event basically. We have a couple guys who love to be “Mr. Heart.” Variety KC has really made an impact on our entire office.” Todd Winnerman President, Cerris Builders Thank you to Cerris for serving as our Paddle Sponsor 🎩 We can’t wait to celebrate with you on Saturday! Don’t miss the fun, buy your tickets using the link in our bio TODAY! ♥️

No better way to kick off the weekend than with a big THANK YOU!! 🥳 Our incredible partners at MW Builders recently fundraised enough money for 42 bike helmets and $425 in iTunes gift cards!!! ♥️👏🏻 The helmets go with each mobility device we provide to children and the iTunes gift cards help us to purchase language systems for our children that use a communication device! Our Variety KC kids could not Be Active, Be Social, or BELONG without amazing donations like this! THANK YOU MW BUILDERS!! 🥰

In 1981 I met a man by the name of E. H. Land. He was in his 50’s and always dressed to the nines. Custom suits, French cuffs & some sort of exotic leather Lucchese boots. To top off his outfit, he never went anywhere without his Stetson Open Road hat. I told myself that when I reached his age, I’d buy/wear an Open Road. Today’s the day! We went to a hat shop in McKinney, TX & I walked out with one. Next, exotic leather Lucchese boots. 😂🤣
