We had our first proper taste of winter fishing today! A named storm, coloured water and numb hands made it pretty hard going out there. But luckily for us we packed sausages and coffee, and had a lovely breakfast in a @thepeacockflyfishingclub hut by the River Wye 🙂

P.s. James has tied up a couple of extra boxes of our favourite tried and tested winter nymphs, so if you’re in the market for some flies for the Grayling season, drop us a DM ✌️

The 2026 trouting season has been by far the best yet! I’ve been lucky to catch some great fish and visit some amazing venues, but it has been the time spent with good friends and my girls that’s really been the highlight.

Now it’s time to embrace cold hands, multi fly tangles and my inevitable falls into the river this winter as we hunt out some Grayling 🎣

I’ve always wanted to fish for wild Salmon, and yesterday I had my first go at the stunning @farnley_estate on the River Tyne. With fish leaping throughout the beat, some perfect looking pools, and the experience of @jan_hobot & @jace69fishing at my side, I was optimistic for a good day.

With just one bump on the line and no fish to the net, beginners luck was not on my side, so here starts my quest to catch a salmon on the fly! 🎣

However, we did get to see some action whilst Jan had a good battle with a large dark salmon that rolled around and came off at the net. Heartbreaking, but confirming that he was on the right fly and fishing well.

Overall it was a fantastic day, in great company. Thanks again to Alix and Chris at Farnley for having me (and for the bankside G&T). I’ll be back

There aren’t many places where you can spend a day fly fishing with a view quite like this.

On Saturday, we had the chance to fish the Haddon Hall beat of the @thepeacockflyfishingclub , surrounded by some of the most incredible scenery the Peak District has to offer.

A few trout, good company and a pretty special place to spend a Saturday. What more could you want? 😍

It was a pleasure to support @thepeacockflyfishingclub at their Cancer & Pisces event on the Haddon stretch of the Derbyshire Wye. We took some photos, untangled leaders, and talked all things fishing 🎣

I realised that I never shared my images from our Sea Trout adventure to Sweden earlier this year, so here’s a sneak peak at what we got up to whilst searching the West Coast for the elusive fish with @p4dunc @perjornlov @christianekberg and friends…

We’re slowly (very slowly) building peakanglers.co.uk to host longer form photo essays and stories from ours, and others fishing trips. We wanted a place to put all our images as only a handful of what we shoot makes it to Instagram, so, in and around parenting and work we have made a start. And just like that, she’s hooked on fishing! 🎣

We took the little one to the pond and picked off fish after fish from the surface. Made a makeshift viewing tank from a 5L water bottle which was great for getting up close to the fish, and had an all round good time - would highly recommend!
