Vo2 testing day.

First ever test done was good to see where my running fitness is at & how far I could push the body.

Keen to see how much I can move the needle over these next few months

Vo2 max: 62.7

Serious gains incoming…

First VO2 Max test to give me some solid data to carry into my next training block! Great insights, lots to work on and it’s got me excited for what’s to come 🔥

Apparently I’ve “got a bit of dog in me” so let’s see how much more we can bring out on the next one!

Emotional morning when this finally came through.

My chip didn’t register properly on Sunday, so after a lot of back and forth with the organisers and them checking all the timing data from the course, my official result was finally confirmed.

3:13:59

There were a lot of tears shed on Sunday and there were definitely a few more this morning when I finally saw this.

I ran my first marathon in November 2024 in 3:42. My goal for 2025 was to run a sub-3:30 marathon. So to be sitting here less than two years later, after marathon number 6, with a 3:13:59 beside my name is honestly a bit mad.

Especially considering I only started this training block in mid-June.

A massive amount of the credit has to go to Sean and @peakformtesting. Sean believed I could run this long before I did. Every time I questioned whether the paces were too ambitious or told him I wasn’t sure I could actually do it, he just kept reassuring me that the training showed I could.

Turns out he was right 😂

The post-marathon blues are definitely real. You spend months thinking about one day, training for it, talking about it, and then suddenly it’s just… over. WTF do I do now?

But this one was about so much more than a time too. We also managed to raise over $4,500 for @petsofthehomelessaustralia, which makes the whole thing even more special.

So today I mostly just feel so fecking proud of this one. Lots to be proud of from this race.

3:42 → sub-3:30 → 3:13:59.

And now I can’t help but think…

If this is what we did in one block, what can we do next?

Muhahhaha 👀👀👀
