I have loved Squire cars for many years, but sadly sightings of them are rare outside of Jonathan Wood’s book of the marque that I have, as the factory near Henley-on-Thames only built seven cars (with two cars built from remaining parts shortly after the factory closed). Therefore, to see two examples at the recent Goodwood Members Meeting was an incredible treat.

Fun fact: the Bora was Maserati’s first car with independent suspension, thanks to Citroën taking over the company in 1968.

I was never particularly into classic Maseratis, but I think this Bora might have changed that. A pristine car with barely 200 kilometers, the smell of the interior brought me right back to 1960s Italy. With a huge special thanks to @pedrocappelle at @classichemasters! MASERATI: il Salotto 5000

This is the early history of Maserati 5000 GT with the chassis no 103.022. In 1961 the president of Mexico, Adolfo Lopez Mateos ordered a Maserati 5000 GT with the bodywork by Allemano. In August 1965 the car went back to the factory after a heavy crash as requested by the current owner, Senior Diez Barroso. Mr Barroso ordered in 15.10.1965 a new car, which was probably the Maserati Mexico Vignale prototype. It was agreed that to assist Senior Diez Barroso in avoiding import duty on its return to Mexico, the factory would assign the same chassis number as his previously crashed #5000GT
The car was presented as the new Maserati 5000 GT bodied by Vignale at the Turin show in 1965 and in Geneva 1966.
