ARE YOU KIDDING!!! THAT WAS OUR FIRST FRINGE 😭🍊

(Please enjoy a dump of various Fringe bits n bobs and our emotional blah blahs below)👇

We arrived with one orange chair and a truly experimental little project about ideas, slowness and saying the thing you haven’t done yet out loud.

The way STEP ONE was embraced has been completely humbling. We leave creatively fulfilled, hearts full and somehow centuries away from the people who arrived two weeks ago.

Since attending our first Fringe, we’ve wanted to bring something here that resisted the pressure to be louder, faster and more finished. Instead, we made space for wobbliness, work in progress, live interaction and imperfection. It reminded us—perhaps we’d forgotten—how fucking brilliant people and their ideas are.

And what a genuinely blinding first Fringe we’ve had.

Interviews. Invites. Parties. Brilliant shows from the front row. People spotting our posters, approaching us with our flyers, recognising us as followers and finding us through the programme. New friends and comrades from all over the world. Artists, comics and industry people we admire following along. Hanging out with people we look up to and discovering they have the same wobbles and doubts as us. Someone who felt too scary to approach at the start was someone we walked straight up to by the end 🧢

We held our own in a space that once felt foreign. We proved we have the chops to do this mad shit—and we get to do it together. 🧡

Someone even stopped us in the street to say our work had inspired them and given them confidence over the years. Wow. We’re just two idiots.

The Fringe also reminded us that loving a community doesn’t mean never questioning it. Some of us move through systems more slowly because we can’t—or won’t—stop asking who their rules serve. Critique can cost proximity. Silence costs something too.

Comparison will steal even the best experience: We had this one. It was ours. And it was fucking incredible.

EDFRINGE: THANK YOU. 🍊

Keep an eye out for the next chapter 🪑💥 👀

Blah blahs on the radio with lovely Katie 💜
