Strongwoman. Poet. Both true.
Lifting on the platform. Writing through the pain.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A couple of years ago I suggested for @lynncelot that OSG should have a masters 50+ class for women as well. He was a bit unsure if there were enough 50+ ladies out there to make a class, but challenged me to find out.

I wrote a few posts, talked with a few fellow athletes, and pretty soon I had a good list of awesome ladies over 50, and ladies who are closing up on the golden number and wanted to continue to compete.

Lynn agreed on making a class last year, and there was a good number of entries, both qualified through competitions and through the online qualifier.

It was with great pride I travelled to Charleston, West Virginia early December 2023 to compete as one of 13 amazing 50+ women in the very first masters 50+ for women at @officialstrongmangames. It was a super fun competition, and I enjoyed every second of it!

One year later we are 16 wonderwomen who are getting ready for another year at OSG, and I am beyond proud of us all!

Ladies, I am so proud to have competed with y’all, and I can’t wait to see so many of you again very soon. And to you new ladies who are competing in 50+ for the first time this year; I can’t wait to meet you!

Let’s show the world how awesome we are, Wonder Women!

Penelope’s Purple Passion by Penelope Chassion

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Thoughts:

I was very kindly #gifted this by @lovebookstours and @penelopespassages and today is my spot on the review tour.

This was the first collection of poetry that I have ever read and I’m glad I signed up for this tour. In the past, I have been really nervous of poetry and I really struggled to understand its deeper meanings. However, this collection was beautiful and I felt I could relate to what the poet was saying.

These pieces are passionate and fiery. Penelope Chassion opens herself up to us and shows us the most intimate parts of her life, it’s incredibly brave.

I absolutely loved this collection of poetry and I can’t wait to spread my wings and read more poetry.

QOTD: Are you a fan of poetry?

Today is my stop on the book tour of #PenelopesPurplePassion thank you to the author
@PenelopesPassages and @LoveBookTours for a #Gifted #eBook in exchange for an honest review, all thoughts and opinions are my own

How beautiful is that cover?

Penelope’s Purple Passions is a story of the butterfly who innocently falls in love only to find out that love can be complicated, and that it changes and evolves just as she does.

This book definitely delivers just as the synopsis promises, it is a lovely collection of fifty-four poems that are split across four parts following the Butterfly’s story of love, loss, grief and self-growth.

There were some really lovely poems in this collection that I adored, and my favourites are; The Game, You Don’t Know Me, Judges and Butterfly Wings. Each poem has its own story to tell, and there are some really heartfelt poems in this collection, there are a few in which the rhymes to me feel a little forced to improve that poems flow, but overall, the collection is adorable, and I read the book twice to really take them all in.

This is one that I would recommend to fans of poetry, as it is definitely one that you need to take you time to read and let the stories sink in slowly
