✧AUGUST WRAPUP✧ ft Life Scroll & September Hopefuls Well well are we even suprised at all that I’m guilty of procrastination? Yeah, I finally got around to doing my wrap up. IN MY DEFENSE, I had a 3 day weekend and it was my anniversary and bf’s bday (they land on the same day, it’s so funny). There’s really no reason to explain myself but it’s more of a self-reminder that it’s ok to pause for a bit lol. 📚Anyway, I started August laughing and crying with Daybreak. Then I locked in with arcs, buddy reads, and then took a detour to Wattpad and devoured a 960 dark mafia romance: Runaway by Bazukah which 10/10 rec. Her writing is crack, now I want to dive into her other books. 🫂As always special shoutouts to the book besties, they make each buddy read experience amazing. 🎞️Castelvania is my new obsession, Spider-man was perfect, and Sterling Point won for best drama series in my list. Ohhh & please watch Widow’s Bay it’s the perfect horror/comedy series for spooky season. 🕯️life updates: august was pretty chill, very few outings, and lots of ordering in. My soul was preparing to be summoned for the ber’ months 😏🍂 & speaking of ber’ months, happy September!! I feel alive😩. I already started making at home PSLs and craving dark academia, gothic, moody reads. 🍂My hopefuls speak for itself 🤭. I have some very highly anticipated arcs. I also will be starting my rereads w/ the audiobooks of The Eating Woods series in prep for Vasmora. Threshing Day is also up there. Per usual, I may not get through my list timely but I will prevail either way LOL. I did finish The Knight and the Moth to start off Sept. which was easily 5 ⭐️ and now I’m halfway into The Knave & the Moon. I am obsessed with Rachel Gillig’s writing. ✍🏼✨ I hope you all have a great week!! 💋 Qotd: what are you most looking forward to in these ber’ months or current read?

It’s been WEEKS that I finished it but somehow I still feel emotionally wrecked by the Ballad of Falling Dragons 🫠 I don’t think even my review will sufficiently express how I feel about this book so here is the depiction in photos of how I felt after finishing it, literally me crying in fetal position for hours (and my boyfriend was making fun of me, hence the idea of taking these photos hehe). And here is the transcription of the sound of me hyperventilating & internally suffering over the last 100 pages: AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I hope these transcriptions convey enough how much I love this book & series. Infinity stars. One of the best sequel I’ve ever read. God tier. Favourite of all time. Really all the existing ways to say that this book is phenomenal. ✨ End of Month | February Recap ✨ ☕️ QoTD: The what was your favorite thing of February? ✍🏻 February was hard. It was also an eye opening month of self reflection. I felt the nuisance of Booksta Burnout and it was something we have all felt at one time or another, but wow…it hit hard. Yet, being transparent - I was able to talk about it in this space, which to me helped A LOT. It showed that I’m not alone and there are people here that really care. 🤍 📖 Reading was a journey this month too. I spent time listening to audio books and reading quick novellas: ✨ Daggermouth happened to be my favorite book of February and was mind f*cking blown. I need book two like yesterday. ✨ Tortured Souls - extremely happy to be back in Melissa’s worlds. Emotional damage initiated. ✨ Warrior Princess Assassin was a surprise for me. I’m here for Asher’s story. I just want to bundle him up and take care of him. ✨ The Quiet Light made me so happy. It was the cozy I needed. And dragon shifter…😮‍💨 ✈️ I also had the pleasure of traveling to LA for Romantasy Book Con to hang out with my amazing book besties and authors. More to come on that. 🤍 Fifteen books for February: six ARCs, nine (NINE!!) for pleasure, and one DNF. How has the bookish community resonated in you? 🧡 Just a simple post to say hello and to say that I’m grateful for this community. I’m coming up on my one year here on Bookstagram and I’m in utter awe of the year that has passed and the amount of friendships I have made. 🍂 Like autumn colors of rustic oranges, reds, golds, and blacks - the changing of the season swirls around us in warm hues, pulling us into cozy sweaters and leaf crunching boots. We as a community are a warm hug on well needed days, a hot cup of coffee or chai latte. ✨ Cold as Ice | Winter Blue Book Stack ✨ 😶‍🌫️ QoTD: Do you welcome people easily into your world, sharing your warmth or do you keep them at bay? ❄️ Today’s stack is giving icy chills, frozen layers, and sharp as nails characters. It’s diving into epic worlds, multifaceted with cold stares, built walls, and keepers at bay. ❄️ We’re focused on keeping out those that would harm us, guarding our precious hearts and feelings (just like our beloved characters) by masterfully rendering icy walls. Our glances, our looks, the silent and deadly stares would keep any person from venturing forth. ❄️ Yet within these layers are minuscule cracks, woven into the fragments of ice - ready to break with the right amount of pressure.
