Join on Thursday 5 November for the opening of Threads of Listening by Western Australian textile artist Ben David.

Threads of Listening is a multi-sensory textile exhibition exploring the connections between touch, sound, landscape and memory. Working with hand-tufted rugs, interactive e-textiles, and sculptural forms, his practice integrates micro-computers, pressure sensors, and embedded audio.

Each hand-tufted textile carries its own sound, and at the heart of the exhibition a large interactive work transforms touch into sound. Run your hands across its surface to awaken field recordings Ben gathered in Claremont and across Western Australia.

Shaped by Ben’s work in disability-led arts and access, the exhibition invites you to experience place through many senses.

📅 Thursday 5 November, 6 to 8pm
📍 FORM Gallery, 4 Shenton Road, Claremont
🎟 Free, RSVP essential via the link in our bio

Meet the artist and be among the first to explore this landscape of fabric and sound. Poster: Threads of Listening, Ben David. Exhibition Opening, 5 November, 6 to 8pm, FORM Gallery. Close-up of a magenta wool rug with dark tree branches.

✏️ LONG POSE TUESDAY — WHAT A NIGHT!

A beautiful full house for our Long Pose Draw last night @urbanwinery_freo

We were delighted to welcome Emily for her first time modelling with Drink & Draw WA. A huge thank you to Emily for joining us and giving our artists such wonderful long poses to work with throughout the evening.

And what a setting! The barrels, greenery, soft studio lighting and cosy atmosphere created the most incredible backdrop for drawing. 🍷🌿✨

It was also lovely to welcome some new artists to the group, alongside so many of our familiar and experienced faces.

We absolutely loved seeing the variety of work around the room — charcoal, pencil, watercolour, beautiful colour and wonderfully vibrant pieces. Everyone approaches the same pose so differently, and that’s one of our favourite things about these nights.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it another gorgeous evening of drawing and creativity. ❤️

If you were there last night, please share your artwork and tag @DrinkDrawWA — we’d love to see what you created!

Want to join us next week?

✏️ $25 per person
📩 Send us a DM or email drinkdrawwa@gmail.com to book.

New artists are always welcome — no experience necessary.

See you next week! ✏️✨

If you’re in Perth and you’ve wanted to snag one of my very limited ceramic works get your ass over to @agwadesignstore because I have dropped a few little goodies in there, my ceramic works are super limited because I cannot make more than one of the same thing without being so bored I want to cry, they are 100% hand made and they are there right now. Walk don’t run because it’s nicer to walk and you’ll be carrying a ceramic when you leave so, you don’t wanna trip. #perthartgallery #agwa #agwadesignstore #ceramics #handmade

This is our Wednesday nights at The Local Hotel ✏️🎸

A huge thank you to everyone who braved the wild weather and joined us last night for our Wednesday short-pose life drawing & live music session.

Our returning life model Che joined us again, with Gavin on guitar, and what a beautiful atmosphere it was.

A full room, plenty of first-time drawers alongside familiar faces, the incredible live greenery as our backdrop, rain on the roof and guitar playing while everyone drew. 🌿🌧️🎶 Pretty hard to beat.

And such a great mix of work across the room — watercolour, textas, pencil, charcoal and plenty of different styles and interpretations. We love seeing how differently everyone captures the same poses.

Thanks to everyone who came along and made the night what it was. ❤️

Have a look through some of the photos from the night — and if you share your artwork, please tag us! We’d love to see it.

⚠️ Next Wednesday is already FULLY BOOKED, so make sure you book ahead for upcoming sessions.
