Mid-nineties Ibiza. Part 2 of my story. 🌅
Manchester felt like a series of closed doors, so in 1995 I left the UK behind for Ibiza. The word was that Café Mambo, in its second year, was the place to be.
I turned up with my records in a small dispatch bag and asked the resident, @jasonbyeibizadj if I could play. He looked them over and said, “You can play. Come back tomorrow at 7, mate.” It was meant to be an hour. I played four or five, with the manager running over to tape it. I got the job in ‘97, and I’ve got Jason to thank for it.
Mambo was, and still is, like a family, held together by @javiermamboking a legend and an enigma. We worked hard and played harder. I still see the crew, and we’ve only grown closer. Still my Ibiza family. ❤️
Were you at Mambo in the 90s? 👇

Our out of office is doing overtime.

Introducing Sick Leave Records, an independent electronic music label founded by Axel Luenebach, Michael Weicker and Pete Gooding.

Artist development. Creative freedom. Club culture.

Through Metropole’s international DJ roster, we stay close to what moves crowds around the world, often before the data catches up.

Short note. Long careers.

Out sick. In the club.
May return. May not.

Imagine this. 🚂

It’s 23:59 at Amsterdam Central Station. The doors close and the train starts moving.

Then the lights come on, the kick drops, and the whole train becomes a club.

There are 4 stages, 4 hours of non-stop music and one train racing across the Netherlands in the middle of the night. The country flies past the windows while you dance between carriages with hundreds of people who all said yes to the craziest party of ADE.

There are no exits and no last call. It’s just you, the music and the tracks until 04:00.

This is Summerians × 50:HERTZ Club Train, and these are the artists taking control of the journey 👇

Still processing what just happened… 🤯🖤

For any producer, hearing your track played on a dancefloor by another DJ is an achievement in itself. But hearing it in the main room of Hi Ibiza, at Black Coffee’s closing party? That’s something else entirely.

Years ago I visualised this exact moment: the lights, the crowd, the drop hitting a room full of people who’ve never heard it before. Last sat night it happened.

Never stop believing in what you are creating!

New track My Love coming soon with my bro @djeff
