Fortunate Cookies Album out now (links in bio) Guided by the standout vocal styling of Rachel Holmshaw, this supergroup of maestros features Kristian Craig Robinson aka Capitol K on drums, keys, filmmaker and avant guitarist Peter Sant, sonic colourist Mark Axiak on bass and twelve string guitar and young Jake Mallia on additional drums. Why are we fortunate ? Hailing from Sydney (Aus), Malta, Hastings & London (UK), Kristian, Peter and Mark had already been performing across Malta as trio Spinozas Dog @spinozas_dog when Rachel’s chance visit to the island resulted in the impromptu recording of a self titled debut album made over two days in the midst of a heat wave. A history of collaborations between various players in Fortunate Cookies goes back decades, yet this configuration had never met, until the day of recording. The resulting record was entirely spontaneously composed and resonates with the instinct of the collective in that moment. In the weeks following the session, select edits were mixed by Capitol K with the addition of Farfisa organ and percussion. Confident, deep with expression and balance, We release the beauty of this work to be discovered and listened to in time via Faith And Industry. @faithandindustry All titles by Fortunate Cookies Rachel Holmshaw: Vocals. @curlwired4sound Peter Sant: Guitar. @peter__sant Mark Axiak: Bass, FX & 12 String Guitar. @mark_axiak Kristian Craig Robinson: Drums (tracks 1,2,3,4) Percussion, Farfisa & Synth. @_capitol_k Jake-Paul Mallia: Drums (tracks 5,6,7,8) @jakepaulmallia Produced by Mark Axiak and Kristian Craig Robinson Recorded at Studio X by Mark Axiak. @studioxmalta Mixed and mastered at Alley 4 by Kristian Craig Robinson Art: Kristian Craig Robinson

Can you watch a film with your eyes closed? This Sunday, we're going to find out. For our next pop-up listening session, Żafżifa leaves the screen behind. Instead, we'll enter its world through sound design, soundscapes and soundtrack — listening to the records on a specially curated hi-fi system built around vintage Tannoy Berkeley loudspeakers and pure Class A Luxman amplification. No projected images telling you what to see. Just sound creating space, movement, atmosphere and memory — and the strange moment when your own mind begins supplying the pictures. It's part film experience, part deep-listening session, part pop-up jazz kissa. And perhaps an experiment: Will everyone in the room see the same film? ŻAFŻIFA — Hear the film. Sunday 30 August · 5.30pm Teatru Salesjan Cafe Bar · Tas-Sliema Savoured individually. Shared communally.
