HOUSTON SEEN / SCENE
Scenes from “Reynier Leyva Novo | Gut It, Forget It. Invisible Houston” at Transart Foundation of Art & Anthropology on its closing night, along with the after-party at RUBY Projects, both of which were on 🔥

Novo’s “Invisible Houston” traces what the city has erased. Burned furniture, sacred dust, and hidden imagery map histories that linger just out of view.

A painting reveals vanished sites only through infrared.

What’s buried isn’t gone.
It’s just harder to see.

Less spectacle. More excavation.

The after-party at RUBY Projects created a natural bridge to the group exhibition “Hit Back,” on view through Sunday (closing reception 3–5 PM). Megan Olivia Ebel is an amazing host and runs this special gallery/residency space.

The best part of the night? The conversations.

Artists, patrons, curators, gallerists moving through the space.

I meant to stay for an hour.
I stayed nearly five.

This is why showing up matters.
