Senator Jon Ossoff said that the election for every race will come down to a few thousand votes in the state of Georgia. That means that every vote in the state counts. Don’t wait around for your mail in ballot. Go vote early in person. Make sure that your voice is heard.

For all the information you need about who will be on your ballot and where to vote, go to TheGeorgiaVoterGuide.com.

Imagine opening your paycheck and knowing almost half of it is already gone.

For lower-income neighbors in Southwest Georgia, 45% of every check goes to keeping the lights and phones on. Before groceries. Before gas. Before anything is left for the “what ifs.”

Residents like Tara Gooden have to work two jobs just to keep the lights on.

Poverty here is twice the national average. In Albany, the median household income is $47,240, and the largest share of residents, 11.2%, live on less than $10,000 a year. Ten thousand dollars. For a whole year. For a whole family.

This isn’t about anyone “not working hard enough.” These are the results of countless decisions determining wages, bills, and who gets help.

Now, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” (HR-1) is slashing programs Southwest Georgians count on, from healthcare to food assistance. When there’s already nothing left to cut from, a cut isn’t just a budget line. It’s a missed meal, a skipped appointment, or an unpaid bill. Many Georgians can’t afford to keep living like this.
Southwest Georgia families deserve to see the receipts.

The film is now live and available to watch.

Southwest Georgia, in their own words. The bills that don't add up. The checks that are half gone before they land. The choices no family should have to make, and the people who made them anyway because no one gave them another option.

None of this is abstract. Utility bills, food assistance, healthcare, and the cost of getting by are shaped by decisions, and the people who make those decisions are chosen at the ballot box. Election Day is November 3rd. Make a plan to vote.
Southwest Georgia families deserve to see the receipts.

📲 If you live in Southwest Georgia, this is still your invitation: share your story at showusthereceipts.com. This film was built from this region's stories, and there are more to tell.

You can also watch the film over on our YouTube channel. Link in bio.

Some stories are scarier when you realize you've been in them all along, especially when you understand you may actually be one of the people responsible for the harm.

Somebody wrote the rules that make abuse easy to miss and hard to leave, and every one of us has had a hand in keeping them.

For resources for survivors and a list of Georgia organizations doing this work, visit the link in our bio.

Share this with someone who needs it.

Then show the survivors in your life that they aren't alone by making a plan to learn about who's on your ballot and where they stand.

Keisha Lance Bottoms in the GA Governors Debate had solutions for the state of Georgia for things lime healthcare, affordable housing, minimum wage, FLOCK camera regulations, paying teachers, protecting our elections from Federal interference and standing up to the President.

Rick Jackson had a whole lot of nothing concrete in his vision for the state.

Early voting starts Tuesday, October 13th. Get all the information you need to know about all of the elections in your area at TheGeorgiaVoterGuide.com
