🚲 What a powerful day for active transportation in Prince George’s County! A special thank-you to County Executive Aisha Braveboy for making the 2026 Prince George’s County Bicycle Summit & Expo a priority, and for delivering a keynote that energized the room and affirmed that safe transportation and infrastructure matter. Thank you to Mayor Mike for welcoming us to Bowie City Hall, and to our panelists for sharing their expertise and helping residents understand the projects underway and what’s ahead. And thank you to everyone who showed up to learn, connect, and support a safer, more connected county. The turnout was incredible. Now it’s time to turn that energy into action. We ride to raise awareness, stand with survivors, and remind anyone experiencing abuse that they deserve support and are not alone. Choose from 30-, 10-, or 3-mile routes. We hope you’ll be there. Enjoy food tastings, dancing, prizes, and resources for breast cancer patients, survivors, supporters, and more! ⚡🚛 MEET SPARKY - The City of Hyattsville’s fully electric refuse truck! One of the biggest—and coolest—vehicles rolling into the 2026 Green Festival doesn’t need a drop of gasoline! 🔌🌱 Sparky has become a familiar favorite at the Green Festival and an example of how electric technology can go beyond the cars we drive every day. From the powertrain to the hopper, Sparky runs entirely on electric power—showing how communities can incorporate cleaner technology into essential public services. ♻️⚡ And this isn’t just any electric truck. Looking back at when the City of Hyattsville introduced the truck, officials described it as Maryland’s first fully electric refuse truck and the first model of its kind in the United States. 🚛🔋 🎥 Want to see where Sparky’s story began?
