🌊 Every storm drain tells a story.

Today, our Summer Youth Interns rolled up their sleeves and helped spread an important message throughout Prince George’s County.

By painting colorful storm drain stencils, they’re reminding all of us that rainwater flowing into these drains eventually reaches our local streams and the Chesapeake Bay.

It may seem like a small project, but it’s a powerful reminder that every piece of litter, every drop of pollution, and every action we take has an impact on our environment.

Today’s lesson wasn’t just about painting—it was about stewardship, teamwork, and protecting the place we call home.

A huge thank you to our interns for helping make Prince George’s County cleaner, greener, and more informed.

Yesterday, July 27th, I had the pleasure of attending the public hearing and swearing-in ceremony for Kevin Anderson as Chair of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC).

We congratulate Mr. Anderson on this important appointment and look forward to his continued service and contributions to the future of Prince George’s County. For the second year, we were so honored to provide run coaching for Prince George’s County Government employees, who came together today to celebrate their hard work at the Fun in the Sun Level Up Employee 5K.

Over the last six weeks, employees have been following a walk/run training plan and gradually building their mileage to the 5K distance.

Today, their hard work paid off as participants crossed the finish line at the second annual Level Up 5K Run/Walk at Rosecroft Raceway. We loved seeing how much the Prince George’s County Government values the health and wellness of their employees.

Big thanks to India, Quintunya, Janelle, and Terri for trusting us with training their employees and to Blue Cheetah Sports Timing for the excellent race support!

New housing, retail, office spaces and innovation hubs are coming soon to Bowie State University!

Earlier this week, Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller, Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy, Bowie State University President Dr. Aminta Breaux, and @MarylandDOT unveiled development partners for the transit-oriented development around the Bowie State MARC Station. This project will transform the site into a vibrant, sustainable, intergenerational community that leverages the area's transit, natural landscape, and proximity to Bowie State University.

Governor Aruna Miller, we announced the development partners who will help bring the Bowie State MARC Station Transit‑Oriented Development project to life; a project that reflects our shared commitment to building a more connected, vibrant, and opportunity‑rich future for our residents.

This effort is about more than construction. It’s about creating a community where students, families, faculty, and local businesses can thrive. With the support of the Maryland Department of Transportation, our development partners, and the leadership of Bowie State University, we are shaping a space that expands housing options, strengthens transit access, and fuels economic growth for the entire region.

I am proud of the collaboration that brought us to this moment, and even more excited for what this project will mean for the people who call Prince George’s County home.
