The 21s Caribbean Geoscience Conference (CGC) held in June 2025 was a success! This event had a mixture of field trips, oral presentations, poster presentations and workshops.

Many thanks to the Geological Society of Jamaica, for placing your trust in me by voting for me to become the newest Council Member. It was a good experience to be able to assist with the execution of such a high level event.

Additionally, it was a great learning experience to be able to get insight into the work of our peers from around the region. The new synergies formed has allowed us to create new bonds and strengthen our collective research programs.

Moreover, thanks to the CGC I got to meet many researchers from across the region. Participants from as far as: Jamaica, Trinidad, Belize, Aruba, Puerto Rico, Guyana, Mexico, Peru and Argentina.

I am honoured that I got the chance to present my Master’s work- and I was moved by the overwhelming support and robust questions received about my work. It means a lot to me for it to be accepted by our wider scientific and economic regional community.

The work continues as we’re in the post-conference evaluation phase and I look forward to the next CGC!
