Before any equipment moves for mobilisation, we function test. Not because we doubt it. But because in operations, assumptions are expensive. Function testing an air tank with a compressor isn’t just about “checking if it works.” It’s about verifying: • Pressure integrity • Leak tightness • Valve response • Gauge accuracy • Structural readiness under operating conditions You’re confirming that the system can safely hold, maintain, and discharge air at required pressure before it gets anywhere near site operations. In oil & gas and industrial environments, compressed air isn’t just air, it powers actuators, controls valves, supports instrumentation, and sometimes critical safety systems. A failed air tank on site doesn’t just delay work. It can compromise safety. Function testing helps us: ✔ Detect leaks early ✔ Confirm pressure build-up rate ✔ Validate relief mechanisms ✔ Prevent unplanned downtime ✔ Protect personnel and assets Mobilisation without testing is risk. Mobilisation after testing is confidence. Operations is not about reacting. It’s about verifying before moving. #oilandgas #theengineeradon #consistency #engineeringjourney #personalgrowth
