Why you should vote NO on the Property Tax Limit Amendment on your ballot:

➡️ It isn’t capable of lowering your property taxes one penny from what it is today.

➡️ The amendment doesn’t specify any number for the limit on property taxes, so you’d be agreeing to something without having all the information to make an educated decision. Amendments are difficult to change, so if you don’t like what they decide about the number, your’e stuck until someone puts it on an election amendment again.

➡️ The general assembly can already set a limit any time they want. This gives more opportunity for the public to get involved with specifics, so you can decide how this affects your family and the services your family needs in the county you live in.

What can you do?

1) Vote No on this amendment
2) Ask your NC Senator and House Rep to start paying the State’s share of Public Education, in order to lower your property taxes.

Got to meet another political hero of mine last night- Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy (@chrismurphyct) has been a leader in the fight against gun violence after Sandy Hook in 2012. I have admired his tenacity and leadership to pass bipartisan gun legislation and was able to tell him that tonight. 🥰 He was also a State Representative and State Senator before going to Congress, so we commiserated over the low pay for legislators! 😤
