During a meeting of the Standing Committee on Finance, a Conservative MP @philiplawrencecan called out the Liberal government over wasteful spending, describing the government as corrupt.

Committee chair @karinagould intervened, declaring the word “corrupt” to be unparliamentary language.

The Conservative MP didn't back down. He doubled down. 👏

💸 Canadians deserve answers about where their tax dollars are going.

🇨🇦 Opposition MPs have a responsibility to challenge government spending.

⚖️ Gould's job as chair is to enforce parliamentary rules impartially, not protect her own party from uncomfortable criticism.

Calling a government corrupt is a serious accusation, but challenging government spending shouldn't be silenced simply because the criticism is uncomfortable.

Canadians are tired of political deflection. They want answers about how their hard-earned money is being spent.

We stand united against the Communist regime of China. On the sidelines of the Shen Yun performance—which had been postponed due to threats from the CCP—I met Philip Lawrence, the hard-working Member of Parliament. He has always stood with the Iranian people. He spoke very candidly about regime change. Together, we discussed Mark Carney’s recent positions regarding the reopening of the Islamic Republic regime’s embassy. We were in full agreement that we must do everything possible to prevent this shameful embassy of the regime from opening here.

When it comes to freedom and human rights, he always stands tall😉. At the initiative of Philip Lawrence, Bill C-281 was passed in the Canadian Parliament in June 2023. The law imposes sanctions on human rights violators.

It was very nice meeting MP Philip Lawrence and his beautiful family at Shen Yun. He introduced bill C-281, which strengthens Canada’s commitment to defending human rights and holding human rights violators accountable 🙏🇨🇦

Shen Yun was magnificent. Beautiful art happening in front of my eyes, breathtaking dances, live orchestra and a beautiful portray of an ancient, rich civilization.

During the show, we laughed, we cried. There was one performance that portrayed the atrocities committed by the communist regime in China. It was hard to watch as it drew parallels to the recent massacre of Iranians by the Islamic Republic’s regime in Iran, but in the beautiful spirit of Shen Yun, the story had a healing and bright ending.

My takeaway from this remarkable experience was that as the great people of China resist and oppose the communism imposed on them, us Iranians continue our fight against the regime in another part of Asia, and light WILL triumph over darkness 🦁☀️
