After more than 20 years on the Upper East Side, Philippe Chow has moved to a striking new address on Fifth Avenue, bringing its signature Beijing-style cuisine to the heart of Midtown.

The new flagship is every bit as dramatic as you would expect, with polished black marble, brass details, rich textures and a sculptural staircase that sets the tone from the moment you walk in.

The menu keeps the classics that made Philippe Chow a New York favorite. I love the walnut shrimps, chicken satay and crispy beef.

A new address, the same signature dishes, and a setting made for a special night out.

What better way to kick off my first night in NYC than at the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival! 🥩🥃🌉

I headed to the Steak & Whiskey night, overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge, and BABY… this event was HEAVEN! I’m a steak girlie who loves a neat pour of whiskey, so you already know I was in my element.

All my favorite cuts of steak in one place, a dope DJ, and great people? What more could a girl ask for?! 😍

My standouts were the steak ribs from @brothersbarbecue (I didn't know Jersey was putting it down like this!) the beef satay from @philippechownyc and, of course, the picanha. WHEW! 🔥

Steak lovers, whiskey sippers, and foodies… WHERE Y’ALL AT?!

I came for steak and left with a whole new respect for beef.

Steak & Whiskey was night two of the New York City Wine & Food Festival, up on the rooftop at Pier 17 with the East River right below. Bryan and Michael Voltaggio hosted, the same brothers who faced off in the Top Chef Season 6 finale, where Michael took the title.

The quality was so good, and the variety honestly caught me off guard. Beef tenderloin, beef dumplings, tartare, and unlimited whiskey pours to wash it all down. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Know this before next year:

• Come hungry, because every station does something different.
• Pace yourself on the whiskey.
• Keep it casual, the dress code is relaxed.

Nineteen years in, and this festival still found a way to surprise me.
