During these tough times, we are reminded that community is everything. 🤎 TUB has never just been about food, deliveries, or events — it’s about people showing up for one another again and again. It’s neighbors helping neighbors. It’s sharing resources, checking in, carrying each other through hard moments, and building something rooted in care. We are so grateful to continue building community alongside the @thebackyardcollective777 , incredible grassroots organizations, volunteers, and neighbors who believe in mutual aid and collective care. Every meal shared, every market shift covered, every donation, every conversation — it all matters. In a world that can feel isolating and overwhelming, community reminds us that we are not alone. Thank you to everyone who continues to pour into this work and into each other. We couldn’t do this without you. 🫶🏽✨

Huge thank you to @joinonbrand and @trycreate for sponsoring our @thebackyardcollective777 Yoga Community Night 🧘🏽‍♀️✨ This was our biggest gathering yet—and it felt like it. @maddieplocklear provided pure yoga magic and so many neighbors showing up for connection, care, and community. For those who are new here, TUB (The Umbrella Brigade) is rooted in holistic care for our community. Through mutual aid, we run a free, choice-based market where folks can access food, hygiene items, clothing, and essentials with dignity—no cost, no barriers. We also support families through direct deliveries, resource sharing, and collective care. Events like this remind us that community is more than meeting needs—it’s about building relationships, creating space to breathe, and showing up for each other in real ways. Thank You to our vendors & photographers @tiedbyadri @swamp__magic @philipringler @visualflo.co @margx Grateful for everyone who made this night possible ☂️

Introducing our next ‘Everything, Everywhere, All At Once’ artist Philip Ringler. Work ‘My Family: Good Night’ ‘My Family is a conceptual photography series that uses inflatable machine guns to critique the normalization of gun violence in the U.S., particularly in Florida. By transforming deadly weapons into soft, childlike props, I expose the absurdity and tragedy of American gun culture. The work uses humor and parody to challenge viewers’ perceptions, turning symbols of power and fear into visual contradictions—simultaneously threatening and harmless. Inspired by bumper stickers that depict firearms as “family members,” the series questions how violence and identity intertwine in cultural narratives. Drawing on themes of simulacra and representation, My Family explores the performative nature of gun discourse, inviting reflection on how signs and symbols shape our understanding of fear, power, and belonging’ - Ringler Check out our exhibition ‘Everything, Everywhere, All At Once’ for more #artgallery #artist #horror #horrorart #artopportunities #nature #art #fineart #artexhibition #scultpure #photography #filmphotography

If inquiry is essential to an artistic practice, then material is evidence and artists are investigators. The medium is an apparatus for interrogation, and through the search artists illuminate the unseen and seek answers. Yet oftentimes, the conclusions we draw incite even more questions, equally expanding our sense of known and unknown.  ANSWER AS QUESTION is Columbia City Gallery’s 17th Annual Juried Exhibit. The exhibit invites artists of all mediums to lean into investigation as a form of artistic expression. It is inspired by and in response to Ai, Rebel: The Art and Activism of Ai Weiwei, on view at SAM from March 12 – Sept. 7, 2025. Ai, Rebel marks Ai Weiwei’s first US retrospective in over a decade and the largest exhibition of his work ever held in the country. In this partnership with SAM, Columbia City Gallery is honored to have José Carlos Diaz, SAM’s Susan Brotman Deputy Director for Art, jurying and curating this exhibit.   On view from July 23–August 31 at Columbia City Gallery. Join us for the Artists’ Reception on Saturday, July 26, 5–7pm, and the Panel discussion with the Curator on Wednesday, August 20, 6:30-7:30pm.   Featuring Daria Agafonova Knight, @amberaguirre4, Audineh Asaf, Jillian Ballad, @never_enough_bro, @jesschengstudio, Stephen Cheng, @shannon_cleere, @graceannartvisual, @tammie.dupuis, @eckel.tech, @ginargrey, @meganhatch_arts, @houston.christie, @ajayhoyt, @stevejensen55, @rachelrosekalman, @aidan.lancaster_photography, @lilymartinaleestudio, @moonsnackspottery, @bluedotbeadwork, @garimanaredi, @amy.oates, @quinneyphoto, @philipringler, @julie_scheyer, GG Silverman, @wynpokes, @kerrydsutton & Nathan Tamaki.   #AnswerAsQuestion #ColumbiaCityGallery #SeattleArt #ContemporaryArt #JuriedExhibit #SeattleArtists #ArtAsInquiry #ArtExhibition #SeattleArtMuseum #JoséCarlosDiaz #SouthSeattleArts #GalleryOpening #SupportLocalArtists #CCGxSAM
