ON THIS DAY - On this day 40 years ago 5 young men boarded a plane from Melbourne to London. We already felt that we had something going on. The next 9 months were often harrowing for some. We played a handful of shows and did some suffering for our art. But what came out of that first year in London was a hardened resolve and belief in our music. We wrote the material that became Prayers on Fire. It was a hard first year in London but the best was yet to come. I miss my old band mates that are not here to share this day. I’m grateful and happy for those who are still here. We made it, in so many ways. But mostly we got on that plane and went. Special thanks to Keith Glass and Helena Glass. Photo credit Helena Glass.
