Value is designed for the moment of need... POSITIONING

That's a perfect definition of strategic positioning.

Value isn’t just about what a service does; it is about being indispensable right when the pressure is on.

Lets get you started in the DM.

Grateful to everyone that joined Allison and BHM yet again for another edition of Africa Breakfast Conversations at the World Trade Centre in New York, on the sidelines of the 81st general assembly of the United Nations (UNGA).

I’m not sure I can find the right words to describe this year’s experience. I won’t even bother attempting it. But if you are inspired to find out what could be a key takeaway from not just our own event, but from this year’s gathering from an Africa pov, I invite you to please head over to the official YouTube channel of the UN, and feast on the really remarkable speeches and presentations by most of the African leaders present this year (I recommend in particular the Ghanaian president John Mahama, the prime minister of Barbados Mia Motley, the Nigerian president (represented by VP Kashim Shettima) and Kenya’s president William Ruto.

I know words are not just enough (apologies @officialwaje), and it seems like we are all tired and exhausted from looking at our world unravel right before our eyes, but I want you to go and dig into all of the eloquent submissions from black/ African leaders and the associated conversations and maybe you’ll end up as inspired as I am. Even if all we do with that inspiration is to do better in our own little corners and get fired up to play even deeper roles in making our nations and this world better for the short time we are here.

IT IS POSSIBLE!

DAY 1 | MIPAD Recognition Week 2026

We officially kicked off MIPAD Recognition Week 2026 in New York City during UNGA Week with a powerful day centered on leadership, government engagement, global collaboration and African excellence.

Day 1 brought together leaders, public officials, scholars, executives and changemakers for the opening of Recognition Week and the global launch of Government Quotient (GQ).

The day began with our Opening Ceremony, followed by an insightful conversation with Phillips Consulting on doing business with the Nigerian government and navigating the systems and institutions that shape engagement.

We then marked the global launch of Government Quotient, with contributions from Foluso Phillips, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Kamil Olufowobi and Dr. Jumo Ayandele, exploring a new framework for understanding government, navigating its systems and engaging more effectively.

The conversation continued with Government Quotient in Action, featuring Hon. Taiwo Oyedele, H.E. Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda and H.E. Professor Robert Dussey, followed by recognition of outstanding global leadership during the 2026 MIPAD Global Awards.

We were honored to recognize:
🏆 Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack — Global Service Award
🏆 H.E. Professor Robert Dussey — Global Minister of the Year

From meaningful conversations to recognition, connection and collaboration, Day 1 set the tone for an incredible Recognition Week ahead.

This is only the beginning. 🌍✨

From Influence to Impact.

The North Central Development Commission, convened leaders across Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, and the FCT for a 2-day Stakeholders’ Development Summit:
“The Great Leap Forward: A 20-Year Development Plan (2027–2047)”.

The defining consensus across all deliberations: "The North Central does not have an asset problem—we have a conversion problem". The region holds 25% of Nigeria’s landmass, two major river systems, and over 3,065 MW of power generation capacity, our challenge is bridging the “missing middle”—turning raw potential into local processing, reliable corridors, human capital, and shared wealth.

Key Summit Highlights:

1. Unveiling the 20-Year Blueprint: Led by the Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum, H.E. Engr. Abdullahi Sule @gov.aasule Executive Governor of Nasarawa State alongside the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Sen. George Akume @sgfakume (representing His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR), regional governors, members of the National Assembly, Ministers and technical partners @phillips_consulting

2. Sub-Regional Specialisation: Moving away from competition toward synergy—from Benue’s food processing and Kogi/Nasarawa’s mineral beneficiation, to Kwara’s agribusiness, Niger’s irrigation/energy hubs, Plateau’s horticulture/mining, and the FCT’s financial-services engine.

3. High-Impact Breakout Deliberations: Action plans covering multi-modal transport corridors (Warri–Itakpe rail integration), regularising artisanal mining, modernising farmer financing, addressing the out-of-school challenge, expanding health insurance, insecurity and institutionalising climate/flood resilience.

4. Shift from Strategy to Execution: Unlocking blended finance and PPPs to fund bankable projects, backed by the signing of the historic Stakeholder Commitment Pledge.

5. Signed strategic MoUs with SMEDAN & NIRSAL to power grassroots enterprise and de-risk agribusiness investments

The NCDC is set to serve as an enabler, facilitator, and regional integrator for delivering sustainable impact.

A Phoenix rising from the ashes isn’t just mythology,it’s how institutions transform.

Yesterday, Phillips Consulting Limited officially wrapped up the Personnel Audit and Skills Gap Analysis (PASGA) project, code-named Project Phoenix.

We presented our comprehensive project report—alongside those from 15 cluster consultants, the team - and they were exceptionally well received by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF).

As the report makes its way to Mr. President, we look forward to being commissioned once again to drive the implementation of our recommendations.

Building a world-class institution takes vision, but above all, it takes dedicated people. My sincere thanks to everyone involved, especially our team working behind the scenes, and we give glory to God for safe travels and overall success.

Onward to Project Phoenix 2.0 and a stronger, world-class Civil Service.
