Most people overcomplicate marketing. Before you turn the camera on or write a single post, you need to be clear on three things: - your offer - your business model - your target customer I've documented the exact framework that I've used in my business over the past 10 to 12 years and I'm looking for a few people to stress test it and give me honest feedback. Want to see the system? Comment "marketing" and I'll send it over to your DMs. Let's get to work #barbershed #chicagobarbers #artgalleryimagestudio #servicebusiness #smallbusiness

First post. Figured I’d actually introduce myself. I’m Phillip, I’ve been a barber since 2016. Somewhere along the way this chair stopped being just a chair. Guys started opening up. Real conversations. Real life. A couple years ago that turned into a prayer call Tuesday and Thursday mornings, just me and some of my clients getting our week started right. It’s grown into something I didn’t expect, and I’m grateful for it. I’m building something around that now. A community for men who want their faith to show up everywhere not just Sunday, but Monday too. In the shop, on the job, in the grind. This page is going to be part of that. Glad you’re here for it. #ACutOfConfidence #DeepRootsStrongLife

In the video yesterday I talked about what this page is going to be about. Before I go any further his is the foundation. Everything I’m building starts here. Not with a brand. Not with a program. With identity. Because I’ve watched too many men good men, hardworking men operate from a place of not knowing who they really are. They grind without purpose. They sit in my chair and something’s missing, and it’s not a fresh cut. It’s the answer to this question: Who does God say you are? Not what your past says. Not what your bank account says. Not what people who didn’t pour into you said about you. What God says. “For we are God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 You were designed on purpose. For a purpose. That’s where we start🕯️ #ACutOfConfidence #DeepRootsStrongLife #Identity #Ephesians210

Shout out to @bubba_cutz out here in Chicago for that fire work the other day. That cut made me want to get in the chair and create. More than that, it was a reminder of the rich history and legacy of Chicago barbers — a legacy I don’t think gets nearly enough respect. It’s wild hearing clients talk about how hard it is to find a good barber. I hear them. But I also know plenty of great barbers out here doing the work. That tension is exactly why I built BarberShed — because the business side of what we do simply isn’t being taught, and somebody had to build that bridge. But sometimes the business conversation gets heavy. Redundant. And you just need something lighter. That’s why I’m co-producing FADE GENIUS PODCAST with host @fade_genuis4. Barbershop culture. Craftsmanship. Real talk from behind the chair — paying homage to those who came before us and shining a light on those coming up. Talk a little. Laugh a little. Learn a lot. One community sharpening each other. And yeah — I laughed when @bubba_cutz called me an OG in the comments on IG, I laugh hard because I never been called that before. I’ve always been the youngest in every shop I ever worked in. Still the youngest in my own shop right now. But after 27 years… I guess I am. 😄✂️ What barber or cut inspired you to to get your bag? Drop it below. 👇🏾 #FadeGenius #BarberShed #ChicagoBarbers #AGIS #TheHairCutter BarberCulture BehindTheChair
