Existential Dialogues II by @chechick.daniel

Just like the first book this book is also very introspective. The discussion here again is in between two partners representing two shades of the authors personality; giving it a kind of dialectical vibe. This time the questions are personal kind of questions like who am I?

The book’s writing style is incredibly beautiful and easy to understand like the last one. The book is inspired by the works of Camus, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy and Nietzsche, and all of them are one of my favourite authors ❣️

My favorite chapters were on the absurdity of life and on suicide. It's very similar to its previous book in many aspects, so there is not much to say but that makes it fun to read them together because it gives it a feel of reading one book instead of two different books.

Would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in knowing what existentialism feels like!

I would describe my first 3 months of the year with the word: #consciousness

I say that because of different reasons but in this post I would like to approach it with the books I read.

📚 The books in the picture were the ones I read during the first quarter of the year. Some were completely read, some just studied, some heard, but all were part of the development of consciousness in these three months.

🚦I’ll start talking about my probably most impactful book of the year: #greenlightsbook by @officiallymcconaughey. This book not only talks about finding good times in life but also about knowing who you are, which is part of the beginning of consciousness in my opinion.

🌟 This book lead me to read other two books (#anewearth by @eckharttolle and #themasteryofself by @donmiguelruizjr) which helped me get a more spiritual definition of who I am: consciousness.

🧠 These two books helped me understand another book I read earlier: #reflectionsontranscendence by @elykinsreflections. In this book the author does talk about consciousness and about being aware in order to develop better relationships and boost your potential.

📖 In books such as #changeyourworld by @johncmaxwell and @robdeanhoskins, #thecurveball by @colbysharmaofficial, #thesubtleartofnotgivingafuck by @markmanson, #the5amclub by @robinsharma and #chilloutandcheerup by @graceygrossmann, I got practical advice not just on developing some sort of awareness, but also on things which need awareness to work.

🖕 One example is The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck by @markmanson, which reminded me about the backwards law for example, which for to be able to notice and change ... you gotta be aware of your reality and perception.

🤟 This was my first quarter of the year in books, not all completely read but all had some kind of impact.

📃 I also share a couple quotes I liked from some which might explain a bit more consciousness or a conscious approach to things.

How has your first quarter been? With what word would you describe it?

P.S: I might be doing a Live today to get deeper into the ideas :D. If not today, tomorrow

👉Have you heard of existential philosophy?⠀
⠀
Existential Dialogues II is a book of inflections and dialogues between a younger and older self. It asks questions about life, suffering, love, success, depression, and happiness and much more.⠀
⠀
Existentialism is an extremely interesting philosophy, which has been reflected well through the dialogues in this book. As the book takes place as a dialogue between a younger and older self, it is not a typical read. It is highly unique and has many questions and answers that make you wonder about your own life and existence.⠀
⠀
The book does a great job of mixing modern philosophy with stoicism and existentialism. Albeit a tiny book at only 127 pages, it is packed full of passages that make you stop and think. It's packed full of passages that make you question and reflect.⠀
⠀
I recommend it to those who are willing to take a journey into a dialogue with the author's younger and older self.⠀
