The MCU Red Cross Youth Council Officers along with the College of Dentistry, College of Optometry, and College of Nursing, participated on the Day 1 of the Health Caravan organized and facilitated by the Philippine Red Cross Caloocan Chapter.

Members of the community went and took advantage of this opportunity to get themselves and their other family members checked-up by our fellow Centralino Student Volunteers. The officers were in-charge for the registration and vitals signs of the community before engaging in the General, Dental and Eye check-up services offered.

AUGUST 8, 2023 | Official Visit to Philippine Red Cross @philredcross

During our meeting, Dr. Gwendolyne Pang brought up that the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and the Climate Change Commission just signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to advance public awareness, advocacy campaigns, and programs on climate change adaptation and mitigation at the local level. And as the reigning Miss Earth- Philippines 2023, this goal of PRC in promoting CLIMATE ACTION is the goal that I will be focusing on in helping them out with as a PRC ambassadress.

The PRC has been actively campaigning and promoting climate action through its Health Services, Safety Services, Welfare Services, WASH, Disaster Risk Reduction, Anticipatory Action activities, and projects such as educating the youth, equipping PRC chapters with climate change knowledge, community planning, and projects on nature-based solutions.

And I am ready to use my platform and impart my skills and environmental knowledge to help them out in achieving this goal. I am excited and I am also beyond ecstatic to be officially partnering up with PRC not only for Climate Action goals but for my other upcoming SDG projects in the different Regions of the Philippines!

We are excited to share the news about the recent Basic First Aid and Basic Life Support training conducted by the @philredcross in Intramuros, Manila, on August 5-6, 2023. Trainees from AMCI Mountaineering’s BMC gained essential skills to become official first aiders and first responders.

Under the guidance of the expert instructors of the Philippine Red Cross, the trainees acquired vital skills in CPR, injury assessment, and handling medical emergencies. These skills empower them to respond effectively wherever the need arises.

Thank you to our partners, the Philippine Red Cross and @merrell_ph.

AMCI BMC 2023 is co-presented by Merrell.
