DAY 6 RECAP. What a day to look back on!

From Johannes Fischer’s lunchtime concert to Wine & Jazz and an unforgettable evening with Philzuid.

The absolute highlight? Takemitsu’s From me flows what you call time. Five incredible percussionists coming together for a breathtaking performance that will stay with us for a long time.

Still feeling the magic of this one!

Reflecting on a transformative time as a judge for the @tromppercussion International Competition. Met young musicians from around the world with a vision, saw performances on the highest level and (re) connected with truly inspiring colleagues. Additionally, the jury somehow fit in rehearsals and three rehearsals of Takemitsu’s From me flows what you call time with @duncan_ward_conductor and @philzuid. A life changing experience to be back in that hallowed @muziekgebouwehv. @domniq_music, @vassilenaserafimova, Alexandre Esperet, Johannes Fischer were the featured soloists and the jury also included @arnoldmarinissen and @jasmi_num.

Yesterday it was an honor to give the first of two performances of Britten’s War Requiem for an amazing audience in Heerlen. The choir, the orchestra, the children’s choir, the chamber orchestra, the Organist, my fellow soloists, and our maestro were all magnificent. This is truly one of the greatest masterpieces ever composed and I was extremely moved to be a small part of this beautiful and evocative evening of music making. Thank you to the whole team for granting me the opportunity to perform this glorious music with you. Tomorrow afternoon we go again in Eindhoven. It will certainly be another performance to remember.

New interview 👀

@duncan_ward_conductor conducts Britten's War Requiem in the Netherlands.

@philzuid
@grootomroepkoor, @studiumchorale and the youth voices of Scholar Puerorum are joined by the rather amazing @jacquelynwagnersoprano, @simonbaileybassbaritone and @brett_sprague

A delight to chat earlier this week. It's not always that you hear the stories featuring Sir Simon Rattle and British tenor Peter Pears

Catch their performance in @muziekgebouwehv on Sunday
