DANCE JAM 2025

This has been a year of freestyle foundations and flow, consistency, community, cyphers and creativity

I been showing up to this space pretty much every week since April following in the footsteps of @forthelocalsau who were running local freestyle sessions over the last years, and I decided to continue creating this space alongside @chica.liria and @dyls_combined_arts . We have watched it change with the seasons, (while they were away I was showing up to the space for weeks on end with only one or no people showing) and now to see it solidify as a weekly gathering for freestyle dance and jamming together. Community led. Open to all levels and styles. Free!
It’s truely a gift and so much pleasure to be apart of spaces like this, to learn from freestyle culture and also to continue creating our own.

Right now in the world we need spaces of genuine community and decolonized creativity - which means accessible, inclusive, connective and expressive. To witness the diversity and beauty of unique bodies moving however they want in one space is a true miracle, and it makes me so happy.

Thank you to everyone who’s come to dance jam or just appreciated it from afar. Let’s keep moving and connecting and expressing our unique essences together in space 🦋
