What happens in your brain when the drink goes in? Watch to the end. 🧠

Just the cue can fire up your reward circuits before the first sip. Then alcohol hijacks the system that was built to keep you alive. It is not a character flaw.

If drinking has become a problem, you are not alone, and there is a way back.

If you drink heavily every day, do not stop suddenly. Speak to your GP first. Simplified illustration, not medical advice.

SOBERX does not replace meetings, a sponsor, a keyworker, or treatment; it holds the line between those catch-ups. Free, no ads, no paywall.

Sixteen years, too many moments, one heartbeat that’s been mine to protect since the day you arrived. 🤍

From the tiny hands that used to hold onto mine, to the incredible young woman standing in front of me now, every single frame of this is a piece of my heart. We’ve walked through it all together, and if there’s one thing I know for certain, it’s this: our love has never been stronger.

Happy 16th birthday, Scarlett. Watching you grow into who you are has been the greatest privilege of my life. Here’s to every chapter still to come, I’ll be right here for all of them.

Forever proud. Forever your dad. Forever us. 🎂✨

This is my latest track. Cycle Broken.

Six months of sobriety.

I used to chase a feeling. Now I’m chasing air, up hills at 5am, gym, boxing, bag, hiking. Same dopamine, different name.

This is what replaced it. The iron. The gloves. The studio at midnight. Turning the restless into something that doesn’t cost me everything.

I made this because six months ago I needed to hear someone say it was possible.

So….it’s possible.

If you’re in it right now, you don’t need the white-knuckle grip. You just need a reason. Build one.

Still here. Still breathing. Still building. 🔓

☀️ What a beautiful day! 🌿

A gorgeous walk along the Chesterfield Canal, soaking up the sunshine, fresh air and those little moments that remind you how good life can feel. ❤️

Then straight onto Rockfest 26 for an afternoon/evening of great music, great people and even better vibes! Arizona smashed it 🎸🤘

Sunshine, smiles, music and memories, exactly what weekends are made for. ☀️🎶❤️

Another beautiful day making memories with the people who mean the world to me. ❤️

A beautiful day and picnic & lovely evening spent with my daughter and Zoe, family and loved ones, before she heads off to France for three weeks. Time together like this is something I’ll never take for granted. Family, laughter, great conversations, and to finish it all… another breathtaking Derbyshire sunset. 🌅 🇫🇷❤️

Turned 50 this year, and I gave myself the gift I actually needed: R&R.

Hurghada showed up at a scorching 38° every single day, and thank God for the Red Sea; it held me the way this whole year has asked meto hold myself. Sober. Steady. Present. Grateful for the heat instead of fighting it. And grateful I had my lovely Zoe beside me, walking every step of this journey with me, on this trip and far beyond it.

This trip came right after finishing the build on Soberx, my AI companion app for people walking the sobriety path. Months of late nights, second-guessing, believing in something before it was finished believing in itself. Launch is almost here.

There’s a quiet symmetry in it, building something meant to help people stay steady, then having to practice that same steadiness myself, with the person who’s been steady beside me the whole way. Fifty years in, still learning that slowing down isn’t losing momentum. It’s how you keep it.

Grateful for the sun, the sea, the milestone, my Zoe, and the mission ahead.

Fifty. Five. Oh. 🎂
Turns out the secret to aging like fine wine is... not drinking the wine. Sober, strong, and in the best shape of my life, my 20-year-old self would not recognise this plot twist.
Tonight: a surprise dinner I did NOT see coming, a table full of the people who actually make life worth showing up for, and enough Italian food to require a structural engineer’s assessment of my chair.
They say life begins at 40. Whoever said that clearly hadn’t tried it clear-headed, consistent, and surrounded by people who love you without an agenda. Because THIS is what it feels like when the work pays off. Not just the workouts in the gym, the meals, the miles. The real work. The staying-the-course, showing-up-for-yourself, choosing-different kind of work.
Half a century in, and I’ve genuinely never felt clearer, stronger, or more myself.
Grateful doesn’t cover it. Onward and upward. 💪
