Last Week To See! Love Letter: An Ode to Toronto | On view through July 25th This exhibition brings together artists at pivotal moments in their careers, forming a dynamic portrait of Toronto. Adewole Louis, a recent graduate of Ontario College of Art and Design, explores how material choices absorb aesthetic meaning and speak to larger systems of cultural production, using sculptural and architectural references to probe tensions between violence and protection, fine art and consumable objects. Kent Monkman, based between Toronto and New York, where he was commissioned to create two colossal paintings for The Met’s Great Hall in 2021, deepens recurring themes in his practice during this prolific period, including his gender-fluid alter ego Miss Chief Eagle Testickle, developed through research and conversations with Indigenous scholars and Knowledge Keepers to reexamine the shared history of these lands. Curated by Hannah Traore, who was born and raised in Toronto, the exhibition is a love letter reflecting her personal devotion to the creative landscape of both cities, encouraging a rich and evolving correspondence between them.

As I was saying, in 2025, some books became a home for my work. Today, I’d like to share the story behind «Dream Cartographies», a piece featured in Por esto me refiero a todo, alongside the work of twenty-five artists from around the world, each reinterpreting fifteen photographs by María Prieto and Pablo Argüelles, aka Proyecto Análogo. Amid poems, ceramic works, embroideries, and collages, «Dream Cartographies» responds to the photograph Cuevas del Mar through a geometric deconstruction that evokes a palimpsest of lived experience. I approach photography as the imprint of a gaze across time—a medium that crystallizes multiple, simultaneous memories. A dialogue with María and Pablo, shaped through the sounds they associate with their memories, dreams, and longings, guided my hands as I traced, cut, and reassembled the photograph into overlapping layers. These layers drift through one another, allowing translucent and iridescent patterns to reveal shifting perspectives and interpretations born from different gazes. In doing so, the work invites us to imagine the soundscape that might inhabit the photograph. It has been a true honor to contribute to this beautiful publication, thoughtfully designed by @unfrmt . I am deeply grateful and feel so lucky to see my work sharing these pages alongside so much talent, generosity, and creative beauty. 🤍💫

PONCHO DE CANCHA by @lucrecialionti for OBJECTS AT PLAY, on view through July 26 🏟️⚽️🤍🪡 Conceived as an open system without fixed boundaries, Lucrecia Lionti's work shifts between garment, field, and suspended surface, translating the iconic shape of the Argentine poncho into the universal language of football. “Through this piece, the field becomes something that can be worn, inhabited, and experienced as a shared surface — a space that belongs to everyone, regardless of where they come from.” @lucrecialionti Courtesy of @barro_cc 📸 @piaa11 @chimene.chimone — PONCHO DE CANCHA de @lucrecialionti para OBJECTS AT PLAY, en exhibición hasta el 26 de julio 🏟️⚽️🤍🪡 Conceived as an open system without fixed boundaries, Lucrecia Lionti's work shifts between garment, field, and suspended surface, translating the iconic shape of the Argentine poncho into the universal language of football. “A través de esta pieza, la cancha se convierte en algo que puede vestirse, habitarse y experimentarse como una superficie compartida: un espacio que pertenece a todos, sin importar de dónde vengan.” @lucrecialionti Cortesía de @barro_cc

Spent my Sunday at the LIMEHOF symposium. It was one of those days where the conversation went everywhere (from music history to just life in general) with the best people. I’ve tried to condense the day into these 20 slides, even though I could have gone on for 50. A huge highlight was meeting John and Dave, true gentlemen and incredibly kind people. Took me a while to get this posted, but better late than never. Hope you enjoy! 🎧 (All photos by me except when credited otherwise) #billyjoel #billyjoelfans #limehof #billyjoelsymposium #pianoman
