This endorsement from Voters for Animal Rights @votersforanimalrights is truly special to me and very near and dear to my heart.

I grew up in a home that taught respect for all living beings—whether they had two legs, four paws, wings, or roots in the ground. Compassion isn’t reserved for people alone; it extends to every living creature.

That’s why this endorsement means so much to me. It’s a reminder that building a better community isn’t just about improving the lives of humans—it’s about creating a world where all living beings can thrive.

Assembly District 37 is uniquely positioned to lead by example. Long Island City was recently recognized as one of New York City’s most pet-friendly neighborhoods. I have met so many beloved animal companions from Ridgewood and Maspeth to Long Island City and Sunnyside. One thing remains the same: our pets are part of our family.

Beyond our front doors, our community embraces four-legged New Yorkers through the many dog runs, parks, and pet shops across the district. We are also fortunate to have birdwatchers, veterinarians, rescue advocates, and small businesses dedicated to caring for our furry, feathered, and scaly neighbors. You help make our community extraordinary.

As I reflect on the campaign trail, I think about all the beautiful souls I’ve met along the way: the dog rescued from Turkey, the beagle with a laboratory number still marked on his ear, the golden pit bull who somehow still believed in humans after humans had failed her. Every animal carries a story. I wish I could shake every paw in this district and hear each one.

A community that makes room for animals is often a community that understands care, responsibility, and compassion. Those values don’t stop at species—they shape how we treat one another as neighbors.

This endorsement reminds me that the fight for a kinder, more compassionate world includes all living beings. And those are values worth fighting for.

Sunnyside Yard is a concept that could change the landscape of our district in Queens.

As your Assemblywoman, I would ensure that on any large decisions I make in office will include our constituents’ input.

When it comes to Sunnyside Yard, I want to make sure that your opinion is heard. This proposal should include significant affordable housing, green space, and a climate resiliency plan that ensures our community is protected from the rising cost of living and climate change.

While there is no federal funding backing Sunnyside Yard, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. It will cost 21 billion dollars just to build the deck over the current train yard. This does not include the cost it will take to build any housing or green space on that deck. That money will come out of taxpayers pockets and I believe you deserve a seat at the table that will fight for what you want to have happen here in your neighborhood.

Early Voting begins next week on Saturday the 13th and the Primary Democratic Election is on Tuesday, June 23rd.

Part of what makes Queens so special is all of the amazing arts and culture that exists in our neighborhoods. Being here for MoMA PS1’s 50th Anniversary Block Party brought back so many memories of walking through these curated galleries with 5Pointz greeting us as we walked outside.

Witnessing the evolution of our surroundings also brings insight into the changes of ourselves and our communities. I am so grateful to be in these spaces, to enjoy great music and beautiful artwork, and to see our neighbors come and share it all together.

Happy Birthday PS1, here’s to another 50 years!

WE’RE SETTING THE STAGE FOR 2026 ⚡️❄️

On Monday, @sunrisemvmtnyc joined dozens of orgs to call out CORPORATE GREED and demand ENERGY JUSTICE. We stood in the cold for the 88,000 households whose lights and heat have been shut off this winter — while Con Ed’s CEO, Tim Crawley, takes home $15 MILLION a year.

No one should freeze while the powerful profit. The government’s job is to regulate greed, not enable it.

The new wave in this city—and across this country—will be the great equalizer. We’re organizing so Crawley and every profiteer of suffering can no longer sleep easy while families struggle to survive.

Keep your eyes on the state budget next month. The fight for an affordable, just city is just heating up.

“This is the most kid-friendly political event I’ve ever been to!” -Astoria mom 🥹 This is what this campaign is about, centering working families and expanding what is politically possible so our children will inherit a beautiful future.

The very best of our district came together yesterday— immigrant workers, queer and trans baddies, working families, Zohran field leads, @nycdsa comrades, and multiple generations of community leaders. We are ready to win universal childcare, fight for tenants and affordable housing, and protect our immigrant, queer/trans, Muslim, and Jewish neighbors. We’re ready to defend our home. ❤️

Thank you, neighbors, for making our Campaign Kickoff a huge success! ✊🏽

Special s/o to my wonderful state senator @gonzalez4ny for her presence and words of support. And thank you to @mezcaluna.nyc for hosting us and to @silas.emerson.harris for the great photos! 📸

As the only woman in this race, as the only woman of color in this race, representation and inclusion matter. @sarahbatchu is running to represent the 74th Assembly District, a seat being vacated by Harvey Epstein since he won the City Council race. We speak about the lack of representation, the lack of women in leadership spaces, but we have an opportunity to help elect a woman who’s smart, creative, collaborative, a coalition builder and a champion in Albany for our community. Mamdani is going to need a partner in Albany, we will need a fighter to guard our communities against ICE, we will need a voice to fully fund NYCHA, desegregate our schools, be innovative on climate solutions & more. Yesterday was Sarah’s campaign launch and it was electric, filled with chants of Sarah, a room of diversity, and the tiniest of future voters, a 7 year old little girl who left inspired at the idea of a woman in leadership. Sarah has already matched which means she received campaign contributions from the required number of people in the district and above a certain amount (will get these numbers for you) in just one week into announcing her race. Let’s get @sarahbatchu to Albany. Interested in learning more about this race? Hit me up! I’ll be hosting several Meet & Greets in the 74th AD Part A!
