Scenes from last week’s online event with Write Up’s @kelseyerinshipman and @hannahmhoward! Marvelous Freaks of Nature! cover artist @susanpickover and I had such *such* a blast discussing everything from how we settled on the hermit heart on the cover to why no one gets into short story writing for the big bucks!
Check out Write Up’s full calendar of upcoming events and pick up a copy of Marvelous Freaks of Nature! while you’re at it!

Extra, extra! Read all about it!
Hell yeah I have a classified ad in the fabulous @weehawkengazette. And hell yeah @susanpickover made me an old timey graphic to share here. I love a local news outlet. And I love writing personal ads for my book 💜
(Did it work? Do you want to make Goodreads stars with me?)

Kobo reset with stickers courtesy of @pickoverdesigns that she graciously brought to the heated Rivalry vinyl release party at Waterloo Records. Constantly amazed by the talent of fellow loons! #heatedrivalry#loontown#atxloons#hudcon

Cloudy and crowdy at the Metuchen Street Fair this weekend. Got to chat about the good work @friendsofmetuchenarts is doing 🎨 and to meet another Metuchen author @drsoniatoledo 👋 Made my family pose in front of a picture of me. And took one of the new Marvelous Freaks of Nature! swag bags out for a spin. (Another @susanpickover @pickoverdesigns creation!) Read local! Support the arts! Embarrass your family! 💜😈💜

Tix for book party fundraiser for Friends of Metuchen Art in bio or on FOMA website.

Spoiler alert, my conversation with @susanpickover of @pickoverdesigns about how she came up with the image on my book cover turns into a high stakes game of How Well Do We Know Each Other? (And, yes, that was really her answer to “what’s your biggest fear” on the first day of college. Syllabus schmyllabus!) Also hear about how the artwork on the cover changed over time and why the original cover was… HOT PINK?!?
