Tickets are available now for the time travelin’ Halloween Show of the decade!

The Halloween Hootenanny, produced by the ‘Michigan Bluegrass + Roots Revue’, featuring Red Thyme, Futuretime Stringband, and The Rupple Brothers (wsg Keith Billik of Wilson Thicket), is coming to The Stray October 30, 2026!

Tickets are $25 adv, $30 dos, and all pre-sale ticket orders will receive a custom Halloween MBRR sticker!
Fasten your seat belts, and dress prepared for the unpredictable weather, as we travel through the fabric of space and time. Our MC for the evening, Lino Venema (of Futuretime Stringband) will mischievously guide our journey through time, as we embark on a voyage to recover the secrets of folk music lost to time. If you know Lino, however, you know that her obsession of Tony Rice licks & lore may fuel ulterior motives, ultimately throwing some unexpected wrenches into our mission.

The show begins at 7 PM and will conclude at 10 PM.
You’ve been recruited for our time travel expedition, and we expect to see you there!

"Methodist Preacher" — off my record No Part of Nothin' 🔥 that's me and Billy Strings trading licks on an old Bill Monroe tune.

This album's still one of the best things I've ever made — cut in Michigan with a room full of heavy hitters: Billy, Lindsay Lou, Josh Rilko, Keith Billik, Jen Sygit and a whole crew of the finest pickers in the state. One of my best-performing records to this day.

Catch me live — tonight in Manistee at The Outsider, tomorrow in Kalamazoo for Sounds of the Zoo. Come hang 🎟️

We tried the @hayesgriffin challenge! Since Hayes injured the middle finger on his left hand, he has been inspiring people in the flatpicking circle to try one finger arrangements. We thought we’d broaden that circle with a few more instruments joining the challenge (although certain dobro players never even needed that left hand finger👀).
🫵🏻@picky_fingers and @futuretime_stringband, you’re up next!

As you can see, we had a blast at the inaugural Red Cedar Roots Festival! Thanks to @micah_ling and all the presenters & sponsors for having us, and to Raymond Holt (@solas_tintype ) for capturing the moment.

Another enchanting evening with the incomparable @wilsonthicket . I put one of their songs in my yoga playlist, so I guess you can say they’ve officially made it. On stage banter is a 12/10. #bluegrass #michigan #folkfestival
