WARNING: EXPLICIT CONTENT.
Fine dining with a serious attitude problem. ;)

RESTAURANT WITH NO BORDERS.

That’s what the menu says when you arrive at @mrazundsohn in Vienna.

And they certainly mean it.

I absolutely fell in love with this place.

Rock’n’roll, madness, wonderfully unconventional and somehow still incredibly elegant. Well, at least at some of the tables. ;)

But what impressed me most was the hospitality.

I couldn’t stop looking around the room, watching the team effortlessly adapt to every table. Knowing exactly how much sophistication, fun or complete madness each group wanted.

Absolutely brilliant.

And the food?

Creative, playful, sometimes wonderfully provocative. Unexpected combinations, bold ideas and serious craftsmanship. Food that refuses to play by the rules without ever forgetting that it has to taste extraordinary.

Because when you decide to break the rules of fine dining, you have to be even better at the things that actually matter.

And Mraz & Sohn absolutely delivers.

Then there’s the wine list.

WHAT. A. WINE LIST.

More than 1,600 selections, from legendary classics to exciting new discoveries. A wine list that feels genuinely alive, driven by curiosity rather than convention.

Exactly how I believe it should be.

We arrived with wonderful friends, opened some extraordinary bottles, and as the evening went on, more familiar faces joined the madness. @cokiesworldofwine, friends from @airasthlm and a few other troublemakers. ;)

Great food. Crazy wines. Wonderful people.

NO BORDERS. NO BORING RULES. JUST PURE PASSION.

Mraz & Sohn, what an absolutely brilliant evening.

I’ll be back.

P.S. No sniffing in the VIP area. Wine is our drug. ;)

Piero Busso bottled his first Albesani in 1982. Today, his son Pierguido is bringing fresh energy to his family estate. The wines are rooted in tradition, yet feel vivid and approachable.

Each Barbaresco has its own voice: vibrant, inviting Mondino; deep and poised Albesani Vigna Borgese; generous, structured Gallina; and fresh, lifted San Stunet, from the family’s high-altitude vineyard in Treiso.

These are wines we're proud to share from a producer whose future is as bright as his wines.
If you haven't tried Piero Busso yet - what are you waiting for? Full range is now in stock. #gcsitaly

Looking forward to seeing everyone joining us tomorrow at @daylesfordfarm Notting Hill for An Evening of Italian Wine.

A few of my highlights from the tasting are shown above, but there are plenty more wines to discover.

We’ll be joined by two of our key wine suppliers, Wine Traders and Hallgarten Wines, who will be pouring a fantastic selection of Italian wines and sharing their knowledge and stories along the way.

It is also the perfect opportunity to try our new harvest menu which will be paired alongside the wines.

We still have spaces available, so do get in touch if you’d like to join us or would like to hear more about the evening.

See you tomorrow!

Er zijn er 1033 van gemaakt. Wereldwijd.
