Ireland launched a new passport this summer, and it’s bursting with Irish wildlife, nature, poetry, and full of surprises under ultraviolet light.

It’s also a refreshing original in a world of AI slop.

Tech is moving at warp speed in tourism, from automation to AI that can generate content in the blink of an eye. We need to get the best out of that. But I think we need to keep investing in human creativity too.

It’s a message I’ve taken from several talks, conferences and reports lately - that we want fast tech, but also people and brands we can trust, and that original storytelling can not only cut through the slop, but be a voice and signal that helps ‘discovery’.

I have some other examples here, from Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin, to Pig’s Lane cocktail bar in Killarney. The new Irish passport illustrations were by artists Denise Nestor and Ailbhe Cronin.

On Saturday we gave the van a good hike as we made our way UP to DOWN 🎉

Thank you to the amazing @dufferincoachinginn for having us in their beautiful b&b and for having us in their amazing event room downstairs ❤️ what a beautiful evening celebrating Gerry 🎉🥳🎂🎁

Then straight back on the road again to have a laugh in @theashburtonbar for our end of week show ✨

Jet lagged in Killarney 🤗

8 years ago was my first time in Killarney and I’ve been wanting to go back ever since.

After an early morning drive from Shannon airport to Killarney my first stop was @lunacoffeewine for a much needed matcha latte and açaí bowl.

Then I wandered around town enjoying the beautiful morning before another matcha was needed from @goodboycoffee_

I decided to go for a walk through Killarney National Park to Ross Castle. It’s amazing how quickly memory returns and I knew how to get there without using maps.

On my first trip here I walked to Ross Castle every morning and it’s lowkey my favorite thing about Killarney. The quick access to stunning nature is perfection.

Thankfully my B&B let me check in early so after a quick nap I had my first Guinness of the trip, followed by a few more.

It’s good to be back 💚

My phone memories show this trip was a year ago this weekend, but it remains an absolute highlight , my favourite hotel in Kerry, and one of my top 5 in Ireland. I shared a reel at the time but I’ve so many photos still to share , to try to do it justice!

Photos cannot capture the extraordinary hospitality though - you’ve got to experience for yourself… This is the hotel that made me fall in love with Killarney again ✨
