Once in a while, we enter a New York City Pilates studio that makes us feel like we’re walking into someone’s home.

To us, the intimacy of a Pilates studio begins with the luxury of a small class, but extends well beyond the number of reformers or mats it accommodates. It is as much a matter of atmosphere as it is of arithmetic.

The proportions of a room, the thoughtfulness of its arrangement, the warmth of the people who welcome us in. Individually, these details may seem inconsequential, but together they give a space its character and make the experience feel remarkably personal.

We can feel how much thought & emotion goes into creating these spaces, from finding the right loft or storefront to considering how every person will experience it. And we have so much appreciation for the studio owners that put that care into every detail.
