Something new this year. The NPA Book Fair Patron Party kicks off Book Fair with an evening at @octaviabooks

You know when you take a trip to Kentucky, there's absolutely NO WAY you're coming home empty-handed!

We just got back from Louisville, and let's just say…my suitcase was a little heavier on the way home! 🤣✈️

Between bourbon hunting, visiting distilleries, checking out local liquor stores, and finding bottles I don't normally see back home, this trip was an absolute BLAST!

Now comes one of my favorite parts…

Saturday we decided to try our hand at crawfish étouffée for the first time. 🦞

We followed @dazzofish recipe, used some incredible seasoning he hooked us up with from @johnnysseafood , AND he loaned us what might be the oldest crawfish étouffée pot still in active service in Louisiana. 😂

For our first attempt… I’m not mad at it at all. Came out pretty damn good.

There’s just something about cooking Louisiana food in a pot that’s probably seen more étouffée than I’ve eaten in my entire life.

Big thanks to Johnny for the recipe, seasoning, and the ancient cookware. 😂

An absolute epic monster of a pour.

@libertybarrelclub and @houseofhighproof teamed up to taste through 6 incredible barrels, and this is the beast that demanded to be bottled.

This is the Pinhook 10-Year Rye. Distilled with a heavy-hitting 95/5 mash bill and aged to perfection at the legendary Castle & Key. As part of the @pinhook_bourbon single barrel program, Master Blender Sean Josephs hand-selects barrels each year for this vertical series, keeping these strictly exclusive to barrel clubs and limited retailers.

Out of the six we sampled, this one stood entirely in a league of its own. Bold, complex, and packing serious heat.

@houseofhighproof had the honor of collaborating on this @pinhook_bourbon 10 year rye single barrel part of the vertical series with @libertybarrelclub. @theseanjosephs did an amazing job hand selecting the limited selection of barrels to enter their program. He’s been building an incredible story with this vertical reaching 16 years. So excited for what’s next!
