This week’s Women in Beer Wednesday features Christine Gillingham, co-owner of Gillingham Brewing Co. in Prince Edward County.
I first met Christine and her husband, Andrew, at the 2024 Ontario Brewing Awards where we hit it off immediately. I felt an instant connection with her; between running a brewery, being a mom, and (as I’d later discover) being really into fitness to name a few, I knew we had a lot in common and I wanted to learn more!
In the summer of 2025, I took my boys camping at Presqu’ile, and we made a trip to the brewery. We were given the royal treatment and ended up spending a couple of hours hanging out, talking beer, business, and records. The sense of community there was so palpable and it was the best afternoon!
I’m so glad our paths crossed when they did, and I’m excited to share Christine’s story with you now:

Christine Gillingham is an accomplished marketing executive and entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in advertising, strategic marketing, brand development, and business leadership. Her corporate career began in advertising before transitioning into senior marketing roles with some of Canada’s most recognized organizations, including more than 11 years as Senior Marketing Manager at Hudson’s Bay Company, followed by Sears Canada. She concluded her corporate career as Director of Parcels and E-commerce at Canada Post. Throughout her career, Christine developed extensive expertise in strategic planning, brand positioning, consumer engagement, and driving business growth.
After more than two decades in the corporate world, Christine turned her attention to entrepreneurship, applying her extensive professional experience to building businesses of her own.

In 2019, Christine and her husband, Andrew, established Gillingham Brewing Company in Prince Edward County. What began as a vision to create an exceptional craft brewery and welcoming hospitality destination has evolved into a multi-award-winning brand recognized for its commitment to traditional brewing styles, quality, and authentic guest experiences.
