A classic moment when the intensity of the open kiln door hits the faces of the kids. 😊 A highlight for many is this opportunity to work with local school children. Sometimes high school and in this case the local “all age school” .
.
we have a couple spaces this may 😊 with @lindachristiansonpottery and @dougcasebeer.
.
kids then had an awesome demo from @greenpottery and each made something on the week with all of helping with tools from @mudtools

First, I'd like to thank Mr Pinto @pintopottery for an awesome experience🎆

Second, I'm grateful to the pottery gods for smiling on us; as well as the clay for cooperating with us😂

Third, WE CAME, WE MOLDED, WE CREATED🤗
Pottery? Fun!
Vibes? Immaculate!
Laughter? Nuff!
Talent? Questionable🤭🤣
Clay in my nails and happiness in my heart ❤️
Wheely proud of this one 🏺🗿
Core memory unlocked ✨️🪄

What becomes possible when presence matters more than mastery? 👇🏾 READ CAPTION‼️

I’ve always suspected there was a relationship between writing and pottery.

Yesterday, I got to test that theory.

Not at the wheel yet.

Just clay.
Curiosity.
And a beginner’s mind.

What surprised me wasn’t the pottery.

It was how quickly my perfectionist showed up.

Wanting to do it correctly.
Wanting to get it right.
Wanting to know the outcome before I’d even begun.

The clay didn’t care.

It invited something else:

Presence.

Play.

Permission.

Permission to fumble.
Permission to not know.
Permission to be a beginner.

And I found myself wondering:

How much of my creativity gets interrupted by my incessant need for perfection?

Perhaps mastery isn’t the goal.

Perhaps presence is.
