Track of the week: Conquering Mountains 🏔️ I wrote it in Andorra. Snow, mountains, a chalet. About a perfect life. Where challenges had been faced down. Obstacles tackled. And the summit had been reached. Finally. Life felt complete. Conquering Mountains. 🎧 Listen: link in bio. Violin: Simon Kodurand (@skviolins ) - with the Bristol Ensemble ( @bristolensemble ). Recorded at @stgeorgesbris - audio by @alexgardenmusic - videography by @pitmanfilms #newmusic #composer #classicalmusic #fractures

THE FACES OF FRACTURES, PART 2: behind the camera 🎬 Part 1 was the people in front of the camera in the music videos. This is the people behind it, who made FRACTURES sound, look and reach you the way it does. 🎥 Giles Pitman, filmmaker, music video director, producer, camera and drone operator. Behind every film you’ve seen of this album. 🎙 Alex Garden, recording and mix engineer. Mics, studio, levels, every sound. 🔊 Nick Cooke, mastering engineer. The last pair of ears before it reaches yours. 🎼 Pete Doyle, executive producer and business manager. Helped get this project off the ground. 🎨 Kama Czechowska, painter and album artist, whose painting gave the album its face. ✏️ Jasmine Collings, pencil artist and album artist, whose hand-drawn pencil work became part of the album’s world. 🏛 Josh Brewster, venue manager, and St George’s Bristol. Looked after the hall and everything around the recording day. 🧭 Kessie Hodges, creative business coach, branding and website manager. Helped shape joegaluszka.co.uk and how I present the music and the business online. 📷 Mar Girardi, assistant camera. Caught the moments you’d never get twice. 🎬 Sian Horton, social media videographer. Filmed the early content that first introduced FRACTURES to the world. 💡 Theeban Mahesan, social media assistant. Advice on posts and content that helped shape how FRACTURES was shared online. 🌍 Katie Forbes and Lilly Johnson, Mile Digital Distribution. Got it out into the world. None of it happens alone. Thank you all. 🙏 Link in bio. #FRACTURES #JoeGaluszka #BehindTheScenes #BristolMusic #NewAlbum Press photo of Giles Pitman, filmmaker, music video director, producer, camera and drone operator, with the text ‘Giles Pitman, filmmaker, music video director, producer, camera and drone operator’ for Part 2 of The Faces of FRACTURES.

Jazz in the car, a violin up a hill, and a drone in the sky 🎷🎻🚁 Spent today on Burrington Ham in the Mendips filming something I’ve wanted to make for a long time. Huge thanks to @skviolins (violin) of @bristolensemble and @pitmanfilms (camera + drone) for braving the wind. Conquering Mountains 🏔️ coming soon. #ConqueringMountains #Mendips #Bristol #Violin #MusicVideo

A little life goal, ticked. ✓ Hearing something I’d written on BBC Radio 3 was one of those things I’d quietly hoped might happen one day, ever since I was young. This morning , I learnt ‘Requiem for Mum’ has now been played three times this year. ❤️ It still feels slightly surreal writing that. The first sketches of this piece were written in memory of those whose lives were lost during the pandemic. I never imagined that my mum would become one of them. Five years ago this month, the piece was played at her funeral. It later became part of ‘FRACTURES’, my debut album with The Bristol Ensemble — an album about memory, loss, resilience and rebuilding. So this doesn’t really feel like “goal achieved, onto the next thing”. More like one of those rare moments where you look back and realise that something you once quietly hoped for has actually happened. Three times, apparently. Thank you to everyone who has listened, shared the music or followed the journey so far. ❤️ If you’d like to hear ‘Requiem for Mum’ or explore ‘FRACTURES’, you’ll find everything through the link in my bio. #BBCRadio3 #RequiemForMum #Fractures #ContemporaryClassical #Composer

Since we started we’ve pushed against almost ALL traditional volunteering. We do not ❌ * Get involved in construction projects * Have English classes run solely by foreigners * Carry out marine or forest research / conservation * Actively work with children You may ask why because this is what volunteers want? Because we know from our boots on the ground research that these activities hinder community development and remove jobs for people. Instead we teach people how to be successful. We create local communities that help each other. Provide education on language skills, employability, sustainability and more. We create something that will last a lifetime and it doesn’t matter if foreigners are there volunteering or not. To get involved with one of the most ethical travel companies in the market. Embers to Flames is out now. This track marks a turning point in my EP Fractures — moving from rupture and exposure toward renewal and strength. Recorded with The Bristol Ensemble at St George’s Bristol, the piece grows from a quiet, fragile beginning into something far more resolute. On top of rehearsals, teaching, and leading ensembles… I’m scoring wildlife. Shaping a documentary soundtrack. Writing for the stage. Composing for brass. Building something that didn’t exist before. And now—releasing FRACTURES. This isn’t “busy.” This is the work. If you want to hear where all of this leads… it’s out now. #ComposerLife #NewMusic #FilmScore #OrchestralMusic #FracturesEP

“We always give the bison names. That way, we can recognise them” 🦬 🌱A clip from Zubr - Here Be Giants, a beautiful film following bison ranger, and fellow rewilder, Donovan Wright as he journeys to Poland’s ancient Białowieża Forest, uncovering how Europe’s gentle giants are transforming entire ecosystems. Here, Donovan speaks to the locals who have giants as neighbours. 🗣️“We are all just living here together - all together.” 👥These European Bison have formed a strong bond to these communities as they slowly roam about breathing life back into the land. Through their presence alone, the landscape is revitalising - and so too are the everyday routines of neighbours. Imagine a future in which we see our fellow giants scratch their back on our favourite apple tree, as we sip our coffee… well, it is already in the making. #ChooseOurFuture #WorldRewildingDay Featuring the work of @WildwoodTrustUK Hats off team @Zubr_Film @PitmanFilms @PintsInParadise @FilmsAt59 @HardingLeeMedia 🎥We encourage you to head over to Youtube to watch this 30-minute adventure of a film!
