What’s a girl to DO?! In just over a year of having #t1d, our girl got her first wonky @dexcom! At insert she exclaimed “wow! I didn’t even feeeeel that one!”. Meanwhile Mom’s first thought was “Adhesive didn’t want to stick… that’s not right.” Felt around and saw the loop…
Looked at Patrick and said “oh shit. We’ve got a loop!”, he said “ohh shit. Might as well take it off now!”, Matz was having none of it and insisted we wait😆
..Within 5 minutes, it failed. Bent needle inside the applicator, no sensor on the device itself.
Thankful for having a nice little supply of Dexcoms in our cabinet so we didn’t stress. A little giggle and now a new countdown to warm up!
Just another day in the life of a family caring for someone with T1D. We giggle, we say “fuck you, diabetes you can’t stop me!” And keep going(to the park, specifically).

Our baby boy was selected to receive the Superior Improvement award at his middle school this evening.
The ceremony is for those leaving the school, recognizing their toughest middle school achievements.

Colt essentially lived 2 lives for the first 2 years of middle school. He played baseball 2 hours away, 2-4 times per week.
His sister went into DKA & was diagnosed with T1D his second year.

This year? It’s been fitting together all of the missing pieces. He has done just that. To be recognized for that hard work, means so much. The thoughtfulness behind showing these kids that mistakes can be made, but it’s OKAY, is incredibly meaningful.

We’re so proud of our big guy. His teachers are so proud of him too… Less than 8 days until he’s officially out of middle school and onwards to high school. Words truly escape me, other than proud. He is such an incredible young man, Patrick and I are so fucking lucky to be his parents ♥️🫂

Roadside #Dexcom change! Bay Area -> LA. A 6 hour drive, with built in rest time to charge the car allows for some fun with our girlies diabetes. A change in scenery for the site change, even if it’s at a picnic table at the rest stop🤪

Allows for extra interesting distractions too 🤣

Matzy’s first desk container #lowsnack restock! Trying to simplify our low situations that arise at school. We had found these cute containers on Amazon, and of course @_natalienoel surprised our girly with them! Now she’ll have convenient access to quick sugars when she needs a “pick me up” ♥️

We are SO HAPPY our buggy is at school with her best friends, and the worlds best teacher, rather than a hospital bed 🫶🏼

Convinced my bestie to come take a turn around trip from SoCal to the Bay for @clara_cuve on Friday.
Then @teletechuk the next day 🫶🏼

A weekend to fucking remember. Dancing the night away with the loml and my best friend with our favorite DJ’s simply cannot be topped 😩🥹
Now I’ve got tunnel vision leading me straight to Beyond this weekend 😏

*The Queen of Schranz making eye contact with me and thanking me will live forever in my mind 😩🥺
