Since 2020, I’ve served on the Board of @mekongnyc_, eventually growing into the role of Treasurer. Years prior, I’ve worked with Mekong in various capacities, including filming their leadership team in my documentary for NBC News, “Deported” and running podcasting workshops for the youth. It is an honor to serve my community in this capacity, and continue doing what I can to sustain and uplift the org’s mission.

If you have the means to give this season, please consider donating to Mekong NYC. Your donation supports direct services, leadership development and bandwidth to serve on national campaigns fighting for collective freedom.

Happy Giving Tuesday (and everyday)!

Photos: a few snaps from our 10th anniversary last year. In order: Mekong Board members, traditional Cambodian dance, me running live donations, my UCLA friend Seng (also on the board!), my friends who bought tix, founder and former ED Chhaya, and more friends who bought tix.

What does revolutionary love and the collective work of grief look like? How do we mourn, process and push forward together? We must always ask ourselves these questions in the face of tragedy and grief.

As a community, together we can endure when it is worked through collectively. Grief does not have to be alone and insular. When we publicly share loss and pain, we lessen the pain that debilitate us, while at the same time building a community grounded in care and accountability for everyone.

Thank you to all who shared their words of comfort last night. Your courage to rise in a moment of pain is truly empowering. Much love to our allies at @jfrejnyc for encircling the space. We keep each other safe.

My cis and trans sisters I see you and I see us. Our pain is our collective grief to process and our voices will be the ones that are heard. We exist and we will continue to dismantle the systems of white supremacy, patriarchy, sexism, classism and imperialism that thrive on our oppression.

Please read and uplift @redcanarysong statement.

Quick trip down memory lane: remember Mango Tribe, Ishle Yi Park, Bao Phi, Two Tongues and @refugenius? Yuri Kochiyama and #JacksonHeights local Grace Lee Boggs? THIS is the energy that propelled the #Carolynfor25 campaign - a platform that centers grassroots, working class, immigrants, WOC and LGBTQIA+ folks and strives for collective liberation.

Grab a seat, join us at the table. We have work to do, that can only be done TOGETHER.

We had a blast cooking for the 5th MekongNYC house party. Thank you guys for sharing your vision and doing all that you do to make the playing field level for ALL of us. Y'all have our support 💯 . And shouts to the Vietnamese coffee brew that someone described as "the Cadillac of coffee beans" 🔥🔥🔥 ***For some of the familiar faces we saw, we're sorry if anyone wasn't able to get any food! Drop us a DM and we'll try to take care of you 👌🏽
