POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hard to believe that it’s nearly a month ago that team Ireland were packing their bags for Vilnius, Lithuania for our second trip to WTDGC. Normal folks, pulling on Team Ireland kit to support our small but mighty nation on the world stage! Here at home, our hearts were full watching our friends taking on the big leagues with style and poise. They say national competition brings out the best- we saw incredible shots on the coverage, with craic and team spirit to boot!

Our thanks to our Irish WTDGC competitors: Ben Matthews, Jake Walpole, Sean Craig, Bob Van Rugge, Bronagh Murray, Aobh Sharvin, Sarah Delahunt and not least, Captain Patrick McGeough- You all did us proud- some team for one team! Hup!

Thanks to the photographers who were able to capture the action shots Pablo Naya, Rafalas Dubovicius, Jonas Velicko, Julius Anduzis

Thanks to @wfdf.wtdgc for running the tournament in the beautiful country of Lithuanian

In the graveyard at Drumbeg Church with Aobhi and she made me laugh so much when she turned and said we are the ‘Burke & Hare ‘ of firewood gathering

28 years ago this magnificent person arrived on planet earth, happy birthday bold, beautiful Aobh, thanks for being all that you are to all of us - here she is pictured in my arms at her first film festival party aged 3 weeks, needless to say she remains fond of a party , she loves a good sleep too and chilling on holiday somewhere in Donegal , ever stylish in pink fur and moccasins , fed and happy watching her first Scooby Doo probably and stepping out on her own with all the enthusiasm we all know and love , I truely don’t know what we’d do without you 💚💃💚mama and Mickydad 💚💃💚

Wish you could have been at the Belfast launch and thanks for coming if you were there 🙏🏻Poems, songs & reclaiming days in that week felt good …

… from the long painting-covered room subliminally brickwalling it looking towards outside & a hot summer’s night …

… Michael O’Neill the wonderful painter, who along with Jude Sharvin are Arthouse the publishers, waxed very lyrical on the theme of Six String Street …

… Sebi phoned in regarding the title of Written to be Read Quickly …

… the signing place was a holy alcove indeed … thanks Aobh Sharvin for aesthetic amazingness & Melanie from the Harrison for inviting us in and telling the story of the building …

… Kittie O’Neill for the beautiful photos and actual real photography focus …

… and Sebi White for designing the softback & the hardback. Michael suggested the hardback & here it is. I have read books longer than I have consciously listened to records & seeing/feeling the hardback in my hands at the Arthouse office in Ormeau Avenue felt like the first EP years ago at Stiff Records deep in the Island Records building, London W6. Something else! ❤️always & see you before you know it … more pics tomorrow … ✨

Some week… Watched in horror as Belfast showed its worst side; my fantastic PhD student Dr Niamh Callaghan passed her viva with no corrections (pictured with myself and Dr Noreen Giffney, two very proud supervisors); a huge thank you to the brilliant @lizajthompson and all who came to my book talk @bx_gallery, it sparked some powerful conversations and I’m very grateful; my fab friends @armchairandrocket showed their new film; heard a tree creeper thanks to @karen_crennell and the Merlin bird app; Belfast showed its true spirit in a colossal rally against racism, and the sun finally came out
