trying Schwarzkopf’s copper pigmented hair gloss as a natural strawberry blond ✨
-
Hours before my bestie’s engagement party, and I only turned my pinky finger slightly orange. Compared to the last gloss I used, this one is a much richer copper, and there’s also less steps involved. You just apply to clean, damp hair and then rinse it out.
I think this might go into my regular rotation for when I’m feeling like I need just a little extra sparkle.
-
Not sponsored just genuine really loving this product as it doesn’t risk ruining my natural colour: but hey @schwarzkopfau if you’d like to sponsor me, I wouldn’t say no 😘

Introducing my submission for this years Threatened Species Bake-off: Samson the Sunset Frog (𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘦𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘢) 🌅 🐸

These colourful and cryptic frogs are currently listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List. They are found in peatlands across the south coast of Western Australia, often nestled amongst soggy soils, endemic Albany Pitcher Plants and dense moss beds (or in this case desiccated coconut).

Samson is made out of chocolate mud cake, vanilla buttercream, rice crispies and held together with hopes and dreams.

Sunset frogs are facing many threats including altered fire regimes, climate change and habitat degradation by feral animals. Thankfully, the only threat facing Samson is being too delicious.

Thank u @hollywinklesmith for the reference photo 🫶🏼

If you’ve been newly diagnosed with coeliac disease and are in the trenches of reworking your entire diet I promise you it does get better. There are so many amazing gluten free options available to us, and it just takes a bit of time to discover them. I promise you that reading labels will soon become something you can do with a glance. Advocating for yourself in restaurants will not be as daunting. Cooking substitutes at home will become achievable and delicious.

3. Macaron De Paris: Over 25 gf flavours available
4. Iron Ramen: Pop Up Ramen Truck that offers to best gf ramen noodles I’ve had since being diagnosed and I literally dream about their fried chicken
5. Bluey’s Bistro & Steakhouse, Cardiff: amazing gf snitzels with lots of toppers to choose from, a majority of their menu is also gf.
6. Susuru, Newcastle: Ramen Restaurant that feels like you’re in a Ghibli movie, and they cater to gf.
7. Pressbook House Café, Newcastle: they have a separate cabinet for the gf baked goods
8. Cafe Napoleon, Warnersbay: My favourite place to get gluten free pancakes, they’re also super switch on and have options for other allergies.

The irony isn’t lost on me that one day I would cling to the lyrics I wrote for my aunt when she was diagnosed with breast cancer (she’s now cancer free!) 💖
-
“Sticks & stones, and doctors notes, she won’t let them break her bones”
-
Because I’m going to be real, for some years, becoming chronically ill did break me, and the grief over having to quit music was so strong I couldn’t stand to even listen to it. In the time since then I have become so resilient. I learnt how to love my life again in a different way and while I still struggle on a daily basis, I have hope for the future. Perhaps even a future where I can write and share more original music?
-
I’ll be honestly vulnerable with you, I feel like a completely different person from then and sometimes I wonder if I can actually do that…. but something I’m realising the more I find myself is I’m still that whimsical girl who loves glitter, fairytales, flowers.
-
In the time until I release something new, I was wondering if you might take a trip down memory lane and listen to EP “Aster Amellus” with me so that it finally gets the attention it deserves while we look forward to days of new songs as well.
