Guiding is a lot more difficult than people think. It’s not just 20” fish and girls in bikinis. It’s a lot of work with long days and stress too. This week we sat down with @pjguides and asked him what it’s like to be a guide. His answer might surprise youyou. #flyfishing #flyfishingguide #flyguide #troutfishing #guidelife

FIRE BITE

We like to think as guides we learn something new every day on the water, well this past week we learned wildfire smoke makes for an incredible bite. Our topwater fishing on the hazy days was top notch. The diffused light and the high temps made for some insane bug fishing…

Did you fish in the smoke? Did you see the same bite?

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the @onwaterfish booth this weekend at the Great Waters Fly Fishing Expo to talk about the @onwaterfish app and fishing with me. Such a good time!

I was also pleasantly surprised to learn I’m not the only one with balloon skill - great work @tedhansen_art and @stanley_leonard_studio!

Huge thanks for the amazing pastry, @tschmidt30 …truly elite fuel. Hope your kiddo liked the balloon dog.

@pjguides and Danny P came in clutch on the pack-out during the blizzard.

Somewhere between all of this, a Godzilla PBR was probably consumed…thank you for the koozie @oakandoscar!

Looking forward to seeing who wins the metal trout print! Good luck to all that entered! 🤠

More than four decades ago, Orvis set out to make planning a world-class fly-fishing or
wingshooting trip easier. We sought out the finest operations, destinations, and service providers,
then worked alongside them to refine their systems, facilities, and most importantly, their
customer experience. The result was the Orvis Endorsed Program.

Each year, members of this exceptional network are recognized as the best of the best. These
honors reflect the genuine feedback of the customers we share, whose experiences remain the
ultimate measure of success.

This recognition also reflects an operation’s commitment to conservation, stewardship of its
natural resources, and partnership with Orvis in delivering outstanding fly-fishing and
wingshooting experiences.

With that, we are pleased to announce the Finalists for the 2026 Orvis Endorsed “Of the
Year” Awards. Each of these partners has gone the extra mile to deliver exceptional outdoor
experiences, and we encourage you to explore their offerings, along with those of all our
endorsed partners, at www.orvis.com/adventures.

Winners will be announced at the Endorsed Partners Awards Banquet in Denver this April.
